Case IH News - July 2013

Agro Napló
A warm welcome to summer! We've been busy with a number of shows and events over the past few weeks and we also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Magnum with the auction of a limited edition Silver Magnum 340. Let's hope the hot, sunny weather lasts for the upcoming Royal Welsh Show!

Winner of SMRA Competition

Thank you to everyone who entered the Scottish Machinery Ring Association competition for four weeks' free use of a Case IH tractor! Case IH supplied the tractor which was delivered by local dealer A.M. Phillip Agritech Ltd. The lucky winner was Allan Watson, Potato Manager for George Hendry Farms, Elgin. Allan entered the competition at last year's Keith Show. The tractor of choice, as chosen by David Hendry, was a top of the range Puma 160 CVX The Puma, which has a step-less transmission, consistently proved its worth and versatility through de-stoning, ploughing, fertilizer-spreading and road-work.

Touring the Case IH factories in the USA

Farmer Keith Challen, had always wanted to visit the USA and see for himself how they farm. This May he was fortunate enough to be asked by Case IH if he would like not only to visit the USA but to see his new Axial-Flow 9230 being built and drive it off the production line. Keith and his travel partner Paul Harrison, Case IH European Harvesting Manager, made their way across the country, starting in Chicago, Illinois and travelling through Iowa and Minnesota to North Dakota, where they visited the Case IH tractor factory in Fargo, home of the Steiger. During a tour of the production line, Keith and Paul spent some time watching the production of a Steiger before continuing on with their journey. The time Keith had been waiting for came the following day when he and Paul travelled to the Grand Island plant in Nebraska - 26ha under one roof and a new rotary combine rolling off the production line every 15 minutes. Their tour guide took them to see Keith's 9230 in production through its different stages on the line and Keith was finally given the opportunity to fire up his new combine. “My thanks go out to all of the Case IH people who made my visit so memorable. This really has been the trip of a lifetime“ says Keith.

Royal Cornwall Show

Truro Farm Machinery was proud to display an impressive line-up of Case IH tractors at this year's Royal Cornwall Show. The good weather ensured large crowds and all Case IH and TFM staff were kept very busy dealing with a lot of strong enquiries. Bob Jones, who this year celebrates 30 years of managing TFM, was delighted to welcome so many new and familiar faces to his stand.

Royal Highland Show

The Case IH stand at the Royal Highland show last month was a great success and we had excellent attendance, particularly on the Friday and Saturday. The Puma, Puma CVX and Maxxums proved popular and there was a great deal of interest in the Farmalls, particularly the Farmall U and the Farmall U Pro, and the Puma 160 CVX that was on the stand was purchased at the show.
