Speed doesn't matter

On Monday Oct. 7, 2013, HARDI hosted an international group of journalists for a Press Drivers' Day at a farm near the company's main factory in Norre Alslev. During the day, 25 journalists from 12 countries sprayed with the full HARDI product range of trailed and self-propelled sprayers available for the European market.

To test out the top of the trailer line, a COMMANDER 7000 i was driven at 35 km/h. The COMMANDER was equipped with a TERRA FORCE boom with AutoTerrain adoptive boom leveling system.

The TERRA FORCE boom was flying 50 cm over the ground and kept that distance uphill, downhill and over bumps in the field. The AutoTerrain adoptive boom management makes this possible due to the fact the boom regulates the forces in the boom even before any kind of change in boom distance is visually seen.

To put this speed into perspective - spraying at 35 km/h (with a 20% reduction for turning in headlands) is equal to spraying approximately 100 ha per hour.

As one German journalist said after the test: “It is not the sprayer which is the limit of spray capacity, but how much power from the tractor you can get out”.
