Pöttinger set for international success
Ongoing internationalisation earned Pöttinger the record turnover of EUR 303 million during the last financial year. Almost 84 percent of turnover is currently reaped from international sales. A major portion of this success is attributable to the Western Europe Division with France and Great Britain belonging to the top 5 markets for sales growth and now the responsibility of the new Sales Director, Sven Niels. As one of the largest and most important markets, France already accounts for 13 percent of total turnover.
Sven Niels (39), who has been an Area Sales Manager at Pöttinger since 2011, started his job as Sales Director at the beginning of February. He was one of the main people responsible for getting the three new sales subsidiaries up and running in the UK, Ireland and Belgium during 2012. These subsidiaries have already far exceeded forecast turnover figures during their first year.
Sven Niels, who comes from Schleswig-Holstein in the far north of Germany, has always had close links with agricultural technology. As a student, he worked on several farms in former East Germany during the holidays and has worked in sales and marketing for many years for well-known agricultural machinery manufacturers.
"His feel for developing new markets and many years of experience managing regional sales through importers - together with the expertise of his proven team - will ensure ongoing growth of the company in the coming years," says Global Sales Manager, Martin Schädle, on the appointment of the new Sales Director.
