Through Changlin DEUTZ-FAHR, an equal joint venture with the Chinese group Changlin, SAME DEUTZ-FAHR inaugurated two new plants in China for an investment of €40 million. Established in 2011, the joint venture employs 350 workers.
The new Linshu establishment stretches over a total surface area of 200,000 m 2 , of which 40,000 are covered, and will produce a wide range of tractors with 25 to 170 hp. The Suihua site, with a covered area of 6,000 m 2 , assembles and distributes high-power tractors with technical specifications and performance in line with the European market, meant to be used in farming areas of the Chinese province of Heilongjiang.
"The inauguration of new plants in China, said Lodovico Bussolati, CEO of SAME DEUTZ-FAHR, is the outcome of an intense collaboration with Changlin and is an important step in the SAME DEUTZ-FAHR internationalisation process, also opening up opportunities to develop the local market."
The first model developed by the joint venture was also presented; a new tractor, forming part of a range of models with engines from 140 to 170 hp, designed and made in China, which will be launched on the market in September 2014.
