Crystal Lake, IL -Mathews Company (M-C), who has led the grain dryer industry in 10' tower sales for nearly 25 years, will "unveil" the next generation of its 12' diameter tower series. Thousands of show visitors will see first-hand the new modular style grain dryer at this year's Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.

This new design is based on operational experience that encompasses nearly 25 years in vacuum-cooled tower drying and follows in the success realized by the popular "Next Generation" 10´ Tower redesign. According to company president, Joseph Shulfer, "As in the 10´ tower re-design, the parameters of the dryer, including heat and cool holding bushels, airflow, and burner characteristics, have been revamped to provide the most efficient drying process for current grain varieties being harvested. These tried and true changes have seen tremendous success from end-users over the past four years."

Approximately four 12´ towers are currently in production and the first has been installed in Ohio. Mathews Company sent key personnel to assist and oversee the installation including the design´s engineer, its tower line production manager, and technical support personnel. The modular dryer was fully stacked and installed within two days, where previous models took up to a week or better, according to Shulfer.

M-C engineers will monitor each of the next generation 12´ towers during the harvest season and work one-on-one with the on-farm dryer operators to gather data and evaluate each of the dryers´ overall performance. "This field testing has become the "norm" in recent years and is imperative prior to full commercial release, says Shulfer. "We want our customers to be assured that our machines not only meet our customers´ expectations, but exceed their expectations."

High quality has always been a primary focus of Mathews Company´s equipment since the company´s inception in 1954 and that focus continues today. In addition to meeting the high quality standards expected by M-C customers, field testing is equally important according to Shulfer. On-farm testing gives M-C a better sense of real time performance and adjustments can be made to optimize performance. "Combining quality components and incorporating the latest technologies is a powerhouse combination puts M-C as the premier dryer line in the industry," concluded Shulfer.

The new line-up will replace the previous 12´ series and will include three (3) sizes with capacities ranging from 2,000 bushels per hour up to 2,800 bushels per hour, based on 5-point moisture removal. Farm Progress Show visitors will easily spot the M-C tower dryer as it stands on Lot #842, on 8th Street near Central Avenue. Mathews Company is celebrating 60 years in business and in addition to seeing its newest grain dryer, visitors can see a photo display of early farm equipment and grain dryers produced by the company through the years.
