Pöttinger relies on high forage quality for healthy, high-yield dairy herds. In addition to forage quality, high performance and smooth running for up to 50 percent lower diesel consumption than other harvesting processes are the key specifications that Pöttinger has implemented perfectly with the new FARO. The new FARO is designed for tractors between 90 and 150 hp and is equipped with PTO shaft protection of 1600 Nm. The 750 mm diameter rotor has 7 rows of tines with 7 mm double tines and 31 knives. With a chopping length of 45 mm, the new FARO chops even shorter and offers higher performance as a result. The scraper floor is 150 mm lower. This enables optimum unloading and space for 17 or 22.5 inch tyres. The concept is rounded off by the new look. To meet a wide range of individual customer´s requirements, Pöttinger offers FARO models 4010 L / D COMBILINE and 5010 L / D. The FARO 5010 L / D features an all-steel body with 700 mm top panels, extension bars that can be adjusted in three positions (-0 mm/-120 mm/-210 mm) and now has a capacity of 31 m3. The FARO 4010 L / D COMBILINE features the COMBILINE body.
Perfect ground tracking and optimised forage flow
The proven 6-row floating pick-up with cam track at both ends ensures perfect ground tracking and clean forage as a result. New developments - now available on the FARO - are the wind guard with swath roller for optimised forage flow and an additional tracking roller. This is positioned behind the
pick-up to improve pick-up guidance. The parallelogram tracking roller mounting that can be adjusted independently of the front jockey wheels is unique. This guarantees a one hundred percent float function. The tracking roller can be set up to 50 mm higher. This system excels in very wet operating conditions with deep tractor wheel marks: no sinking into wheel marks and precise height control in all situations. The raw ash content of the forage is greatly reduced as a result. Consequently, clean forage promotes higher milk yield to increase success. This unique technology (available as an option) is now successfully in action on all Pöttinger rotor-type loader wagons.
Driveline and rotor deliver pure performance
The new FARO features a HEAVY DUTY single-stage incoming gear unit. The rotor is driven by a high strength 1½ inch simplex roller chain. On loader wagons fitted with discharge beaters, only the pick-up switches off. Power is supplied by a wide-angle PTO shaft protected to 1,600 Nm. This means that the new FARO has around 14 percent more drive power with a corresponding increase in capacity. The automatic chain lubrication system minimises maintenance requirements.
The chopping system has been revised. 31 knives provide a theoretical chopped length of 45 mm so that the new FARO chops up to 11 percent shorter. For the FARO 5010 L / D there is also a bolt-in frame available with 6 or 11 knives. The new FARO also features the proven knife security system. The EASY MOVE swing-out knife bank was invented by Pöttinger to make servicing the knives as convenient and safe as possible. Of course, Easy Move is also available as an option for the FARO.
The scraper floor has been lowered by 150 mm at the front end. This allows for tyres up to 710/35R22.5 to be fitted and the wagon stands horizontally. The forage is conveyed upwards to the rear, leading to uniform and smooth unloading. In addition, noticeably less power is required. A two-speed motor is also available. The FARO 5010 L / D can be fitted with the automatic loading system as an option.
FARO 4010 L / D COMBILINE
The dual-function front flap enables a rapid change between loading mode and transport mode: The forage compression flap is controlled electro-hydraulically from the terminal to bring it into the desired position. The front panel of the wagon has been redesigned to provide a good view into the loading chamber from the tractor. The automatic loading system has two measuring points. A feature unique to Pöttinger: Compression is adjustable via pressure springs to ideally match the power of the tractor.
The COMBILINE bodywork features high-strength, full-length panels without extension bars. Roof ropes with rear tarpaulin are available as an option: for optimum crop containment, for loading hay and straw, and as an option for increasing loader wagon capacity by up to 3 m3. With the new slanted mudguards, there is no chance of any crop material getting caught. The benefits are clear to see: Nothing is lost during transport and the road and loader wagon stay clean.
Unloading made easy
The D wagon tailgate is implemented as a multifunctional rear flap. Three position are possible:
- Normal unloading with tailgate wide open
- Fine discharge for controlled unloading
- Cross-conveyor mode
The D version is equipped with a straight driveshaft powering two beater rotors. The tailgate is fitted with an adjustable flow control board, which pivots upwards when the tailgate opens to prevent crop losses.
Chassis and tyres
The FARO 4010 L / D COMBILINE is equipped as standard with a 15 tonne (13 + 2) parabolic spring chassis and 560/45 R22.5 tyres.
The FARO 5010 L / D also features a 15 tonne (13+2) parabolic spring chassis and 500/50-17 tyres.
An 18 tonne (16+2) parabolic spring chassis with longitudinal linkage and 560/45 R22,5 tyres is also available as an option. Both types of chassis can also be supplied with a steered trailing axle. Tyres up to 710/35 R 22.5 are available as an option.
The L version is operated as standard using the Direct Control terminal; the D version uses POWER CONTROL. Both versions are also available with POWER CONTROL Wireless or the CCI terminal.
