Lohmann Animal Nutrition to commence operations on 01.10.2014.
Cuxhaven, 01.10.2014: Following the closing of the sale of the Feed Additive division of LAH/Elanco to the recently founded Lohmann Animal Nutrition GmbH, the new company will commence operations with effect from 01.10.2014.
Lohmann Animal Nutrition will provide the feed industry with safe and high-quality feed additives that enable economic animal nutrition and ensure a sustainable, healthy future for man, animal and the environment. The new company is thus continuing the tradition of the feed additive division of Lohmann Animal Health GmbH and closing the circle to its predecessor, Lohmann Tierernährung, which was founded back in 1967.
Following the sale of Lohmann Animal Health GmbH to Elanco (Eli Lilly) the aim was to separate the divisions, which has now resulted in the sale of the feed division to the previous managing director of LAH. In the process Dr. Bruno Kaesler, as sole managing director and owner, takes over all relevant assets and the entire feed product portfolio.

Some 130 employees are switching to the new company. Most of these are employed in the previous and future headquarters in Cuxhaven where Lohmann Animal Nutrition operates a feed additive plant with seven state-of-the-art mixing lines for liquid and powder formulations. In addition the company owns a Chinese subsidiary which operates in Shanghai, taking care of local quality management and supply partners. Lohmann Animal Nutrition also holds 49% of a Joint Venture for the production of enzymes in Wuhan (China).
Lohmann Animal Nutrition to launch „Quality&Trust“ at EuroTier.
Cuxhaven, 21.10.2014: Following the announcement two years ago to establish a new system with improved protection against contamination in feed additives imported from China, Lohmann Animal Nutrition GmbH is set to present the result at EuroTier: The „Quality & Trust“ standard.
The feed industry is faced daily with the challenge to provide the basis for healthy animals and safe food. Maintaining standards is an essential requirement. The past has shown, however, that this alone does not ensure sufficient protection against cases of contamination and their consequences. Lohmann asked itself the question how both the consumers and its own customers can be better protected without sacrificing cost effectiveness. The result is Quality & Trust, an extensive approach towards prevention of contamination in feed additives.
The system focuses exclusively on suppliers that go beyond maintaining standards and are guided by the quality perception of European customers. These suppliers cooperate closely on site with Lohmann's Chinese and German specialists as partners on an equal footing with the aim of continually optimizing quality assurance measures. These measures are developed progressively on the basis of HACCP risk analyses which are carried out individually and process-based for each product and each manufacturer. An independent Advisory Board regularly evaluates the measures which have been carried out in addition to those planned. The result is a clear increase in sustainable product safety.
Customers that are able to qualify as Quality&Trust partners are also able to benefit from improved supply reliability and have exclusive access to a database that sets a new benchmark in transparency. .
