Dirt on solar modules can reduce electricity production by up to 30%. This is why Kärcher is now offering new accessories for high-pressure cleaners which thoroughly clean solar modules: with the iSolar, a system with rotating brushes attached to a telescopic lance, it is possible to economically clean up to 1,500 m² of modules in a day, depending on their design. iSolar has been tested and certified by the DLG (German Agricultural Society).
The two disc brushes are mounted on ball bearings and have non-scratch nylon bristles. They are powered in a contra-rotating motion by the water from the high-pressure cleaner in low pressure mode and can therefore be guided in sections with minimal effort. They are attached to the telescopic lance, which is infinitely extendable up to 14 m in length. Thanks to the high-quality materials used (carbon and carbon composites), it is very light and robust. The water supply can be turned on and off by a ball tap on the lance. All of the connections are made from brass and stainless steel to prevent corrosion.
For smaller surfaces, such as on elevated systems, the accessories are also available with a brush. A mildly alkaline cleaning agent for solar modules that will not damage the aluminium frame and dry streak-free, a mobile water softening system to prevent lime stains and a fall protection system for the operator can also be used. iSolar can be used with all professional Kärcher high-pressure cleaners with a flow rate of 700 l/h or above.
