Mitas' core businesses and brands

MITAS a.s. focuses on niche off-road tyre programmes such as agricultural, industrial and motorcycle tyres. MITAS a.s. core business is in agricultural tyres (e.g. tractor tyres), industrial tyres (multipurpose tyres, off-road earth-moving tyres, skid-steer tyres, etc.) and motorcycle sport tyres. In 2014, about 70 percent of MITAS a.s. revenues came from agricultural tyres (the Mitas and Cultor brands, and the Continental brand under licence), 21 percent from industrial tyres and 5 percent from motorcycle tyre sales. The rest is represented by sales of other products and services. Currently, about 80 percent of all tyres produced by Mitas are delivered to its customers in Europe. The company, however, is committed to expanding its global presence.

Mitas brand strategy

Mitas´ strategy is to build equity in a single brand namely Mitas. From January 2015, all tractors and harvesters produced by major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) that were previously equipped with Continental tyres are fitted with Mitas Premium tyres. Mitas Premium tyres bear the same premium quality and technical characteristics as Continental tyres. Mitas´ OEM partners recognise this, and they accepted delivery and fitment of Mitas Premium. Mitas has produced Continental-branded tyres under licence since 2004. The top representatives of the Mitas Premium product line for high-horsepower machines are the Very High Flexion (VF) tyres and Super Flexion Tyres (SFT).

Mitas

The Mitas brand offers a comprehensive range of radial and cross-ply tyres for tractors and trailers and a wide range of industrial, multipurpose tyres (MPT) and earth-mover tyres (OTR). The Mitas brand includes tyres for off-road motorcycle and aircraft tyre segments. Mitas-branded tyres are intended for worldwide distribution as part of original equipment by equipment manufacturers and on the aftermarket. One of the newest type of tyre which Mitas introduced on the market is the VF (Very High Flexion) HC 1000 and HC 2000 tyres.

Cultor

Cultor agricultural tyres offer a comprehensive range of radial and cross-ply tyres mainly for tractors and other agricultural vehicles. Under the Cultor brand, Mitas focuses on developing economy-class tyres that take advantage of the benefits of high-tech tyre development conducted under the Mitas and Continental brands.

Continental

Continental branded agricultural tyres brings a comprehensive range of radial tyres, mainly for tractors and harvesters, to the market. All Continental agricultural tyres are produced by Mitas the company, since 2004.

2014 – Total Winner, CLAAS Supplier award 2014

Mitas is overall winner of the CLAAS Supplier of the Year Awards, 2014. Major farm equipment manufacturer CLAAS awarded tyre maker Mitas as best supplier for its outstanding development partnership, an excellent cooperation during recent years and active participation in logistics and lesser development projects. The gala event took place in January in Harsewinkel, Germany. Mitas won the award from among 900 serial part suppliers.

2014 - Fendt (AGCO):  Four A´s: Highest Supplier grading

AGCO has awarded its highest supplier rating to Mitas for deliveries of farm tyres. Mitas has received the overall A rating annually since acquiring production of Continental farm tyres in 2004. The Mitas-produced brand Continental is a standard fitment in four out of six AGCO's model series, e.g. Fendt 924-930 Vario. AGCO evaluates its suppliers' quality, logistics, customer service and protection of the environment, in all of which Mitas received the highest grade.

2013 - John Deere: Partner status in Achieving Excellence process

Mitas achieved the coveted “Partner” in the so called Region 2 (EUR, CIS, North Africa, and Middle & Far East) status for the fifth time within John Deere`s Achieving Excellence (AE) process. Achieving Excellence is the measurement of performance in quality, delivery, wavelength, technical support and cost management. Mitas first received AE from John Deere in 2004.

2013 – AGCO Supplier Award 2013 in the Quality category

Mitas received the “Supplier Award 2013” in the “Quality” category from AGCO. This was in recognition of Mitas´ excellent performance in AGCO´s purchase region of Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME). In addition to product quality, this award also honors Mitas´ good RFT (Right First Time) rate, which is an index of tyre availability. AGCO cooperates with more than 2,000 suppliers in the EAME region.

2013 – Krone: Tyre supplier of the year

The leading German producer of agricultural machinery, Krone, awarded tyre manufacturer Mitas as the best supplier in the segment “Delivery of tyres.” Krone has a distinguished reputation as a premium supplier in agricultural engineering and cooperates with more than 430 serial part suppliers. Mitas beat out strong competition among premium tyre manufacturers that were also short-listed for the delivery of tyres award for the financial year of 2012/13.
