“The Very High Flexion tyre range proves Mitas´ competence in developing tyres for the largest and most demanding of machinery segments. VF tyres are the backbone of Mitas Premium product offer,” said Andrew Mabin, Mitas' marketing and sales director. “Mitas developed the Very High Flexion tyres to meet the demand of increased load and speed required by the highest horsepower agricultural machinery.”
Mitas also supplies Very High Flexion tyres for new Case IH Magnum™ Rowtrac™ tractor. The VF 380/95R38 HC 2000 tyre was shown on the Magnum Rowtrac when the tractor was unveiled to the media in the city of Nevada, Iowa. Mitas VF HC 2000 tyres are a standard fitment on Case IH Magnum Rowtrac tractors.
The Very High Flexion tyre´s main advantage is maintaining constant tyre pressure at any speed. The VF´s larger footprint leads to less soil compaction and increased mobility under difficult and wet soil conditions. For instance the Mitas VF 710/70R42 has a ‘B' speed category allowing speeds of up to 50 km/h, boasting a maximum load of 7,750 kg under 1.6 bar. When compared with the standard tyre the VF tyre enables 40% more load. The special feature of the Mitas VF rated tyres is the highly flexible sidewall allowing for extended footprint competing shoulder to shoulder with the increasingly popular rubber tracks. Very High Flexion tyres are produced at the Mitas factory in Charles City, Iowa and Otrokovice, CZ.
“Currently, the Very High Flexion tyre for harvesters is under development. It will be marked VF HC 3000, and Mitas will introduce it during 2015,” said Pavel Kott, Mitas´ agricultural tyres product manager.
