Everything is ready for the 26th edition of SIMEI, International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition, organized by Unione Italiana Vini, scheduled to take place from 3 to 6 November at Fiera Milano Rho. Over time the event has become the only international reference point dedicated to the operators and the enterprises of the wine field, a platform for discussing and exchanging views on all the best technologies of the wine, oil and beverage sectors. Its importance is confirmed by the presence of international top players and numerous delegations of buyers visiting the show, coming from the United States, Australia, Chile, Spain, Brazil and Tunisia. They intend to meet exhibitors and to participate in some of the different opportunities for professional updating proposed in the comprehensive programme of events.
The educational aspect has always been an asset on which Unione Italiana Vini has constantly focused in organizing SIMEI, with the consequent aim of accompanying the exhibition of highly technological machines and solutions with different opportunities for in-depth discussion, education and qualified update. As in the last edition, again in 2015 two important International Conferences are on the schedule, with the participation of some major exponents from the scientific research and from the university world.
On the opening day, 3 November, an event that should not be missed at 2:00 pm: “Sustainable viticulture as a tribute to wine quality”, an ideal continuation of the conference which made up the climax of the 2013 edition, where there will be an in-depth focus on the state-of-the-art of the wine industry in terms of sustainable development. The debate will concern sensory analysis that will be the leitmotiv connecting this first meeting and the following one, scheduled for the whole second day: “Discover the Sensory Factors”, which will indeed examine all aspects, from the scientific to the productive aspects, even including the commercial point of view. Both these two important events are sponsored by OIV - Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin, by Ceev- Comité Européen des Entreprises Vins and by FIVS- Fédération Internationale des Vins et Spiritueux -.
Besides these seminars, Unione Italiana Vini has organized a full programme of themed meetings dedicated to wine, vineyard, oil and beer. Every day on schedule there will be workshops, sessions of sensory analysis and tasting at the Sensory Bars.
Therefore, SIMEI keeps its promise, proposing itself more and more as a place where it is possible to share and exchange cross-cutting contents, as a complement and support to the exhibition part, always and anyway of outstanding quality. It also acknowledges and rewards excellence by reproposing the contest "Innovation Challenge Lucio Mastroberardino, in which the exhibitors can present systems, machines or products, characterized by a high technological content.
A special Technical-Scientific Committee, elected for this purpose in the last months, selected the most innovative projects that will receive their awards on 4 November. Seventeen projects will be awarded the “New Technology SIMEI-ENOVITIS 2015”, whereas other four projects will receive the “Technological Innovation Award”, the special mention.
A great novelty at SIMEI 2015 is the debut of ENOVITIS BUSINESS, a new event format entirely dedicated to the vineyard, sponsored by Conaf - Consiglio dell´Ordine Nazionale dei dottori agronomi e dei dottori forestali (National Association of Agronomists and Foresters).
ENOVITIS BUSINESS is an unprecedented networking event, studied to ensure new business opportunities to visitors and exhibitors and it is a unique occasion of professional updating, thanks to the intensive educational programme of WORKSHOP INNOVATION. This is a platform of contents dedicated to wine-growing technologies that every day will discuss specific issues – including precision farming, plantation and landscape management - through the speeches of authoritative speakers, exponents from the private and academic research world, with the purpose of offering concrete solutions to the needs of modern wine-growing.
Enovitis Business is one of the forms of the ENOVITIS project, created in 1997 by Unione Italiana Vini, today a reference brand of a strategic project addressed to the promotion of wine-growing technologies.
