DLG (German Agricultural Society) and the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture have reached an agreement that will see them collaborate on the development of Iranian farming. DLG President Carl-Albrecht Bartmer, DLG Managing Director Dr. Reinhard Grandke and Iranian Deputy Iranian minister of agriculture Abdolmahdi Bakhshandeh signed the deal, which will see closer co-operation between the two countries, during International Green Week in Berlin last week.

The importance of the agreement was underlined by the fact that Iranian Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati, Iranian Ambassador to Germany Dr. Ali Majedi and German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt were also present for the signing.

“I believe that by using our know-how not only in the field of trade fairs and field day events but also in machinery and food testing as well as in the training of farmers, we are able to contribute to the development of Iran´s agriculture, " said DLG President Carl-Albrecht Bartmer

A delegation from Germany's Federal Ministry of Agriculture will visit Iran in April. On the agenda, among other things, will be participation at the 12th annual Agrotech-Agropars International Trade Fair of Agricultural Technology, Specialty Crops, Fertilizers and Pesticides, Seeds and Irrigation. Co-organized by DLG International for the first time this year, the exhibition takes place at the Fars International Exhibition Center, in Shiraz, the capital of the Iranian province of Fars, from 26 to 29 April 2016.
