MF 6700 Series completes Massey Ferguson's Global Series of tractors from 75hp to 130hp

Agro Napló
Massey Ferguson, a worldwide Brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), is proud to announce the introduction of two new tractors in the completely new MF 6700 Global Series, which make their debut at the Techagro Show in Brno in the Czech Republic on 3rd April 2016.

Delivering maximum powers of 120hp in the MF 6712 and 130hp in the MF 6713, these are the largest, most powerful models in Massey Ferguson's Global Series of sturdy and straight-forward, all-purpose tractors. This now includes three completely new ranges that deliver practical, cost-effective operation for the demanding 75hp to 130hp sector.

The new MF 6700 Series joins the 100hp and 110hp, MF 5700 Series, launched in February at the FIMA show in Spain, as well as the three models from 75hp to 95hp in the MF 4700 Series. The new tractors, which are equipped with cabs, are designed and built in Massey Ferguson's Beauvais factory in France.

“The MF 6700 Series is the culmination of Massey Ferguson's significant investment in developing the Global Series. These completely new tractors are the first and only in the sector to be developed in the 21st Century using the most modern design and manufacturing technology,” says Campbell Scott, Director Marketing Services and Public Relations.

“The modern, straight-forward Global Series tractors are purpose-built for ease of use, cost effective operation and superior reliability without compromising comfort or performance.

“The latest MF 6700 Series, with a 2.5m wheelbase and 5.2t linkage capacity, now extend these benefits into another sector. Strong and agile, they make ideal loader tractors, capable of handling heavy loads. They also are perfect for livestock and mixed farming enterprises, while their ease of operation and low cost of ownership makes them well-suited to working in fleets on large enterprises, or as the second or third main tractor on big arable farms,” he explains.

With the MF 6700 Series completing the 75hp to 130hp Global Series, Massey Ferguson now offers customers an unrivalled choice of modern tractors for this diverse farming sector. For work in orchards, vineyards, soft fruit and other specialist applications there is the 76hp to 102hp MF 3600 V/S/GE models.

The new MF 4700, MF 5700 and MF 6700, offer an extensive choice of seven models, from 75hp to 130hp, for those requiring a dependable and straightforward easy-to-use tractor, which combines uncompromising performance with value for money.

Alternatively, for those requiring more sophistication with automation and comfort, there is the 85hp to 130hp MF 5600 Series, as well as the completely new MF 5700 SL models from 100hp to 130hp.

“Massey Ferguson customers can now select exactly the right specification and level of sophistication they require. This ensures they can choose the right model to suit their particular needs and budget without making compromises,” adds Mr Scott.

  • Standard Independent 540/1,000rpm PTO with electro-hydraulic operation and wide choice of speed options.

Modern, powerful and efficient engines

The MF 6700 Series is powered by the highly efficient AGCO Power 4.4 litre, four-cylinder engine, which meets the strict Stage IV/Tier 4 regulations using Massey Ferguson's advanced ‘All in One' emissions system.

This clever, compact system contains the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Oxidation Catalyser (DOC) without compromising power or visibility, while remaining completely maintenance free. Efficiency is further enhanced by the viscous fan, which operates only when it is required.

Top cab comfort and control

Designed and built in the new specialist facility in Beauvais, the cab on the MF 6700 is the largest in its class, offering the highest specification and control.

The modern, ergonomic design makes it easy to operate and presents high levels of control and automation. Electro-hydraulic activation of the differential lock and four-wheel drive, for example, automatically disengages and activates the systems when the brakes are applied and according to speed.

An advanced dashboard design presents a mix of analogue and digital displays, showing all essential information in an easy-to-read way. It also includes a straight-forward performance monitor, which provides information on work rate, fuel consumption and area worked, as well as the ability to memorise and recall engine speed.

Controls are grouped logically - with the console on the right housing the throttle lever and mechanical spool valve controls. A small ‘mouse', designed to fit into the operator's hand operates the electronic linkage control (ELC), providing precise and reliable operation. Further back there are range of sockets to power auxiliary control boxes and equipment.

Modern smooth shifting transmission

Both models in the MF 6700 Series are equipped with the sector's most modern 12 x 12 synchronised mechanical transmission, offering six synchronised gears in two ranges and a top speed of 40km/hr. Gears are changed effortlessly with the help of up-to-date hydraulic clutch activation.

Direction changes are made simply using the standard, mechanical shuttle with hydraulic activation, further easing the workload. The optional Power Shuttle provides fingertip forward/reverse shifts without using the clutch as well as a button on the gear lever to also shift gears.

The gearbox provides seven gears in the important 4-12km/hr field working range and offers a top speed of 40km/hr. A practical overlap of speeds ensures it's possible to pull away with a laden trailer without the need to change ranges. A ‘creeper' option, providing a 14:1 reduction, further extends the tractors' versatility.

Modern responsive hydraulics

A responsive, high pressure gear pump supplies 58 litres/min for the rear linkage and auxiliary spool valves, while another pump delivers 27 litres/min for auxiliary circuits including the steering, 4WD and diff-lock engagement as well as PTO control.

For those requiring extra flow – to boost loader performance – the MF 5700 series can be specified with a 98 litre/min combined flow system. Two double acting spool valves are fitted as standard and a third spool is an option.

Robust modern rear axle

The 120hp and 130hp MF 6700 Series tractors are built for hard work and to meet these demands they are equipped with the same modern, rugged rear axle as the latest, advanced MF 5700 SL Series.

The rugged three-point linkage's maximum lift capacity of 5,200kg enables the MF 6700 Series to handle modern implements with ease. Special linkage arm sensors provide accurate and reliable draft and position control through Massey Ferguson's well proven electronic hitch control (ELC).

The heavy duty, structural axle casting design contains new inboard reduction units, which employ epicyclic gears for the final speed reduction. These amplify torque to ensure maximum engine power is transmitted to the ground to maximise traction and performance.

Up-to-date Independent PTO

A two-speed 540/540E rpm is fitted as standard, but both MF 6700 Series tractors can also be equipped with the optional 540/1,000rpm speed PTO, or a 540/540Eco/1,000rpm. Control is via a modern independent PTO (IPTO) multi-disc clutch, which is engaged electro-hydraulically to ‘ease' the engagement, which protects the driveline by taking up the drive gradually.

Unrivalled loader choice

The MF 6700 Series make perfect loader tractors, with the combined flow 98 litre/min hydraulic system option further improving handling performance. Both models are fully compatible with the five largest models, from the MF 941 and MF 941X upwards, in the Massey Ferguson 900 and Massey Ferguson 900X loader ranges, which are available with parallel and non-parallel lifting. These loaders offer a wide choice of lift capacities and reach, as well as control via a dedicated Massey Ferguson joystick.
