End of May, about eight months after groundbreaking ceremony, the new spare parts warehouse of SILOKING in Tittmoning went into operation.
"With this 1,000 square meter warehouse with 6,500 m² of building volume, we can ensure an even faster parts supply for our customers," company owner and managing director Georg Mayer, looks forward excitedly. "Despite the current difficult economic environment, due to the low milk prices, thus fulfilling our promise to provide agricultural entrepreneurs innovative intelligent products of the highest quality and with the best possible service," says Georg Mayer.
The warehouse is optimally integrated into the logistics structure of the factory and includes a small parts warehouse, a pallet warehouse with around 400 pallet places in European dimensions, round about 1.4 km shelf-space, offices and staff rooms.
A paternoster with a capacity of 3,000 articles will accelerate picking particularly demanded parts.
Within the new warehouse, the departments purchasing and logistics in the areas of customer service and production are now combined. Thus, purchase and disposition of all components could be centrally planned at the site of Tittmoning. Components both needed in the production, as required in the spare parts delivery are no longer distributed spatially at different location. This centralization will lead to even shorter settlement and delivery times.
"Our investment into the Tittmoning site also shows our commitment to our employees and the entire region”, emphasizes Georg Mayer.
