Overall satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors despite adverse weather conditions - Some 22,000 visitors at the estate Maria Burghausen in Hassfurt (Lower Franconia) - More than 2,000 foreign visitors

The organizers and exhibitors at the 2016 DLG-Feldtage today expressed satisfaction with the overall development and outcome of this year's exhibition – in spite of adverse weather conditions. The event, which was held in Germany at the Maria Burghausen estate, in Hassfurt (Lower Franconia) from 14 to 16 June 2016, produced an impressive array of modern crop production methods and solutions.

The show was developed by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) and conducted in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (Munich); BayWa AG (Munich); and Vereinigte Hagelversicherung – Mutual Agricultural Insurance Association (Giessen). Trade partners included: Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe – Agency for Renewable Resources (Gülzow); Union zur Förderung von Oel- und Proteinpflanzen – the Union for Promoting Oil and Protein Plants (Berlin); and Südzucker AG (Mannheim).

"With around 22,000 visitors this year, including more than 2,000 from abroad, we have achieved a good result," says Peter Grothues, Managing Director of the DLG Exhibitions Department. This visitor figure is only slightly less than the record event from two years ago.

The DLG-Feldtage visitors came from all over Germany, with about half of them from Bavaria. Also notable in terms of number of visitors was the area of Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Lower Saxony. Foreign visitors, meanwhile, were predominantly from Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Moreover, the exhibition welcomed a number of senior delegations, including from Iran and from the Russian republic of Tatarstan, as well as from Brazil, China, Finland and Ukraine.

Farmers visiting the 2016 DLG-Feldtage exhibition were generally looking for individual solutions to increase crop production efficiency. Additionally, many were seeking to further exploit the potential of their respective farming locations. Project manager Andreas Steul noted a particularly high demand for information among farmers at the event.

Farming professionals were able to access modern crop production information from 358 exhibitors from 18 countries on topics including including seed varieties, fertilizers and automation in crop production. The subject of crop protection was also a common topic of discussion, as were questions about alternative farming systems.

The success of the 2016 DLG-Feldtage exhibition means the event has been confirmed as the top destination for crop production professionals in Germany and neighboring countries.

The next DLG-Feldtage exhibition will take place from 12 to 14 June 2018, when it will be held at the International DLG Crop Production Center at Bernburg-Strenzfeld (Sachsen-Anhalt).
