The Technical Innovation Award and Blue Award received at EIMA, together with the Outstanding Technical Novelty Award received at FIMA 2016, establish H3O Air Blast as the most awarded sprayer for fruit crops protection of the history.

The H3O air blast of Pulverizadores Fede, a Spanish agricultural equipment company, has received the Technical Innovation Award and the Blue Award at EIMA International 2016, one of the most important fairs of agricultural machinery in the world. These two prizes make H3O to become the most awarded sprayer for fruit crops protection in the history, since it also got the Technical Novelty Award, the highest recognition, at FIMA 2016, international reference point for Mediterranean crops.

These achievements stands out the revolution that the H3O sprayer represents to agriculture, as it is the first pro-active air blast of the market. Spraying is one of the most important agriculture tasks because the quality of the crops depends directly of it. In the current situation of the method, approximately the 80% of the treatment failures is consequence of the incorrect use of the fruit crops protection equipment. This means that the costs raise for the farmer who is forced to repeat the treatment, as well as the risk of the economic losses caused in case the harvest cannot be sold because of its bad quality. The H3O air blast gives a solution to this problem as the equipment sends automatic warnings to the operator to let him know if the spraying parameters are correct for an optimal treatment.

These innovations of the H3O sprayer -especially destined for citrus, vines and olive trees treatment- means an increase of the efficiency and optimization of the work in the field, savings for the farmer, respect to the environment and the improvement of the food security standards. The H3O sprayer supposes the reduction up to the 25% in the costs of pesticides and the reduction up to 4 liters/hour of fuel consumption. This is possible because the air blast is able to adapt the air volume and the pesticide dose in relation to the environmental conditions and the tree row density, therefore it reduces the drift considerably, in other words, the quantity of pesticide wasted and emitted to the environment. This means a great saving for the farmers and benefits for the environment and the consumers, due to this reduction of the pesticide that improves the food security standards.

In addition, the H3O air blast goes forward and generates the field notebook automatically. This advance, besides reducing the time needed to complete this task, represents a before-and-after for the food security because it provides the exact information of the treatments to produce the mandatory field notebook.

As a result, H3O technology, developed with the support of the European Union within the scope of the SME instrument Horizon 2020 to face the challenge “Production and food processing in an efficient and eco-innovative way”, has emerged as an historic landmark in pursuit of a productive and profitable agriculture for the farmer and sustainable for the environment and customers.

The H3O air blast can be visited at EIMA International (Bologne, Italy) from November 9th to 13th in Pulverizadores Fede stand (Pavillion 25ter, 8B) and in the Technical Innovation Awards zone.
