Working free of emissions, for example in stables, is no longer a pipe dream with the KL25.5e. From now on, emissions can be eliminated from your everyday work. Thanks to the new fully electric drive, people, animals and the environment will be protected by the extremely low noise level and freedom from emissions. The machine is especially important for applications in enclosed spaces, such as loading fruit and vegetables, in greenhouses and on livestock farms, as well as municipal applications.
The KL25.5e not only scores here with its environmentally friendly credentials, but also with its high economic efficiency. The initially higher investment costs are quickly recouped by the significantly lower maintenance costs. As with all machines and vehicles, the usual maintenance intervals must be adhered to. The maintenance of an engine, however, is not required and the machine's service is therefore correspondingly shorter as well as lower priced. In addition, the price advantage of electric power compared to diesel fuel is significant. This factor can be much improved if the option to use self-generated power from renewable sources, such as a photovoltaic system, is available.
In the size class of 0.65 m³ bucket capacity, Kramer's KL25.5e wheel loader launches the first fully electric machine on the market. The KL25.5e thus manages to combine the advantages of electromobility with the recognised and appreciated properties of the Kramer brand: manoeuvrability, stability, and constant payload.
The undivided chassis prevents the clearance between the counterweight and front axle from changing. This results in constant leverage, which allows safe working in all load situations. In the process, the payload always stays the same, regardless of steering lock. At the same time, this provides a high level of stability as a shift in the centre of gravity is prevented at full steering lock. The end user can therefore easily and safely remove silage and turn in a six-metre wide space without time-consuming manoeuvring. This outstanding manoeuvrability is made possible with a small turning circle of just 2,700 mm and the all-wheel steering system with steering angles of 38 degrees. A simple and safe handling of silage bales, silage, manure or even the hay bale harvest on grassland is therefore easy to manage – even in very difficult ground conditions. All attachments (except attachments operated with Powerflow) of a conventional wheel loader can still be used for handling work as usual.
The design and development placed great emphasis on a harmonious co-ordination of the elements and components in order to make safe and precise driving possible. To achieve this, two electric motors have been used: one for the work hydraulics and the other for the drive system. Depending on the application, power is automatically provided by the respective motor. This helps to keep the wheel loader power consumption as low as possible. The electric motor is operated via time-tested and proven lead-acid batteries, which are used in the lift truck industry. Depending on the area of application and utilisation of the wheel loader, one battery charge is enough for up to five hours of work.
“We are pleased that we can offer our customers an emission-free and environmentally friendly machine. We are certain that this product will make an important contribution to preserving resources and increasing the efficiency of our customers,” says Karl Friedrich Hauri, managing director at Kramer.
The charge time of the machine is between six and seven hours, depending on the option.
