Agrifirm redefines its German feed strategy

Agrifirm Feed NWE, a division of the Dutch Royal Agrifirm Group, and Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer GmbH & Co. KG (DTC) today announced their strategic partnership as well as DTC's takeover of Agrifirm's compound feed plant in Neuss. This strategic partnership will significantly improve the supply of feed products to customers in Germany.

Agrifirm Feed NWE has redefined its feed strategy in response to evolving market conditions and increased demand complexity.

The partnership will enable Agrifirm Feed NWE to become a strategic partner for DTC in the supply of minerals, pre-starters, concentrates and additives. Agrifirm has been active in this market segment for many years and possesses extensive expertise. “This company is the ideal partner for the joint development of feed concepts in terms of efficiency, sustainability and animal health", says Ernst Friedlaender, CEO of DTC.

DTC continues to focus on its growth and specialisation strategy. Following the successful integration of 3 BayWa compound feed plants in 2015, DTC regards the proposed acquisition of the Neuss plant as a logical step. It enables DTC to serve the highly specialised agricultural market in an optimum manner.

Both parties are convinced that the strategic partnership and the acquisition of the Neuss plant will create synergies benefiting both farmers and the Landhandel. The integration team will work on the implementation of the strategic partnership over the coming weeks. Dutch Agrifirm plants will continue to supply German Agrifirm customers in the border areas of Weser-Ems.

The takeover of the Neuss plant is subject to approval by competition authorities.

The current activities of the Agrifirm office in Greven shall be transferred to other existing Agrifirm establishments.
