Agritechnica 2017: Results of visitor and exhibitor survey

The organizer of Agritechnica 2017, DLG (German Agricultural Society), commissioned the company Wissler & Partner Trade Fair Marketing, from Basel, to conduct a representative survey of exhibitors at this year's event. All exhibitor booths were included in the survey, which was carried out on Friday, 17 November, and answers from the 2,183 exhibitors were available for the preliminary evaluation reported below.

Overall result of participation in Agritechnica 2017:

  • 89% (2015: 90%) of exhibitors reported a positive overall result of their participation at the end of the exhibition
  • 71% (2015: 67%) reported the result was very good or good
  • 18% (2015: 23%) reported the result was satisfactory
  • 7% (2015: 7%) reported the result was less satisfactory or bad
  • 4% (2015: 3%) did not specify the result

Assessment of the number of visitors:

  • 82% (2015: 82%) of exhibitors had very numerous, numerous or satisfactory numbers of visitors to their booth

Assessment of the quality of visitors:

  • 84% (2015: 86%) of exhibitors rated the professional quality of the visitors as very good, good or satisfactory

Contact with new customers:

  • 79% (2015: 78%) of exhibitors reported contact with new customers during the Agritechnica 2017
  • 51% (2015: 48%) of exhibitors reported numerous contacts with new customers

Contact with visitors from Germany:

  • 79% (2015: 81%) of exhibitors commented positively on their contact with visitors from Germany

Contacts with visitors from outside Germany:

  • 78% (2015: 76%) of exhibitors commented positively on their contacts with visitors from other European countries
  • 56% (2015: 49%) of exhibitors commented positively on their contacts with visitors from countries outside Europe

Expectations for business resulting from the trade fair:

  • 78% (2015: 79%) of exhibitors rated the after-sales prospects for the fair as positive
  • 50% (2015: 47%) rated these prospects as very good or good
  • 28% (2015: 32%) rated these prospects as satisfactory

The preliminary results below are based on interviews carried out at different locations of the exhibition with 4,393 visitors.
