Christine, Franz, Philipp and Christoph Grimme are the fourth and fifth generation of this family-owned company.
Despite the difficult market environment, GRIMME Landmaschinenfabrik was able to increase sales by 19 % to € 301 m. All machine branches related to potato, beet and vegetable technology achieved growth. The strongest increase was recorded by beet technology due to the innovation- and quality- offensive and the reorganization of sales. Sales more than doubled in just two years. At the in-house exhibition, GRIMME Technica, from 4 to 7 December 2018, a new generation of self-propelled beet harvester will also be presented.
The Big5 innovations presented at last year's Agritechnica were very well accepted by the market. The self-propelled potato harvester VENTOR 4150 and the trailed potato harvester EVO 290 generated high demand. A further milestone are the unique service-packages for self-propelled harvesters, which even include wearing parts in the highest version, called "Protect".
This year, the new plant in China and the new buildings of the sales and service companies in Ireland and Belgium were also handed over to their destination.
Founded in 1861, GRIMME is a family-owned company with a strong focus on a wide range of future-oriented topics. "The digital world offers us a wide range of new possibilities, which we are already using specifically in our business areas. Platform solutions, augmented reality, digital development systems or the use of artificial intelligence are part of our comprehensive digitization strategy, which not only exists on paper, but is already successfully implemented and lived." explains Christoph Grimme, member of the board of directors and founder of the startup company Schmiede.one in Düsseldorf (Germany).
