The world's largest trade fair for animal production, EuroTier 2018, will take place at Germany's Hanover Exhibition Grounds from 13-16 November; and while the World Poultry Show does not return to the event until 2020, there will still at least 60 exhibitors specializing in products and services for the poultry sector.
Broiler and egg producers will be able to find comprehensive information on animal feed, ventilation systems for buildings, animal health and even energy generating opportunities at this year's event, but there will also be a comprehensive forum program, information on digitization in the Digital Animal Farming special feature and an International Poultry conference on the eve of the trade fair.
The International Poultry conference, which starts at 15:30 on 12 November in Room 1A/B in the Conference Centre at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds, is organized jointly by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), EPC (European Poultry Council) and ZDG (German Poultry Association). The topic under discussion this year is “Poultry houses of the future – Animal welfare. Environmental protection. Biosecurity. Three objectives = one building?”, and proceedings will presented with simultaneous German / English translation.
Specialist poultry forum program
The Poultry Forum on stand A52 in Hall 17 at EuroTier 2018 will feature a wide range of topics for interested poultry farmers. Recent developments such as sex determination of hatching eggs and the optimal feeding strategy will be in focus, along with animal welfare issues including beak clipping in chickens and turkeys. Technical forums presented by exhibitors complete the program, which can be found online at: https://www.eurotier.com/en/technical-programme/event-calendar/
Digital Animal Farming special feature
EuroTier 2018 is hosting the cross-species special feature "Digital Animal Farming – Management Support. Animal Health. Food Safety." in Hall 26 at this year's trade fair. This will highlight technologies for successfully combining productivity and animal welfare, as well as information management and the sustainable use of natural resources. Using sensors and targeted data management, the needs of the animals, the environment, the farmer and the consumer can all be considered equally, and by networking systems and technologies, management can be simplified and errors avoided.
