Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, announced plans today to rename Vellozine™ active to Reklemel™ active, effective immediately. Reklemel is a novel sulfonamide nematicide with a unique mode of action against plant-parasitic nematodes, which differentiates it from other nematicides on the market.

Reklemel will be a core component of integrated nematode management programs offered by Corteva Agriscience. This true nematicide has no insecticidal or fungicidal activity, making it a highly-effective nematode control solution that provides a more favorable environmental and toxicological profile than conventional treatments.

Reklemel protects crop roots without compromising beneficial arthropods, pollinators and organisms in the soil.

“Farmers have told us they needed a better solution for nematode control, and we listened. Reklemel offers control unlike any other nematicide on the market today,” said Santosh Mangalam, global portfolio leader - Insecticides & Nematicides. “It helps farmers care for their crop, their land and the people who work on their land.”

This newly-named active ingredient is anticipated to be launched in product formulations globally, starting in 2021 in North America and Asia Pacific.

Reklemel is a complementary addition to Corteva Agriscience's active ingredients, joining Arylex™ active, Isoclast™ active, Pyraxalt™ active, Inatreq™, Rinskor™ active and Zorvec™ active, as part of one of the most robust portfolios in the industry.
