The “liquid manure-free” pig pen - an innovative complete system designed to avoid manure and ammonia emissions when producing finisher pigs
In the newly developed low-emissions pig pen system, pigs are kept in an outdoor climate stall with internal, encapsulated comfort area. All aspects of animal health and welfare are taken into consideration. Neither dung nor liquid manure arise at the end. Faeces and urine are collected separately and further treated to produce fertilizer products or biogas substrate. Ammonia emissions are reduced by 70% and methane emissions by 90%. The system is registered for patent.
A special process for post treatment of the solid and liquid phases of faeces and urine reduces ammonia emissions by up to 70% and methane emissions by up to 90%, and therefore constitutes a huge opportunity for pig production in Europe.
PigGuard pendulum-scraper - manure removal for animal welfare pig pens
In the majority of cases, the use of straw is characteristic of animal welfare stalls. This significantly enhances the welfare of the pigs, whilst also offering an opportunity to remain active and acting as bedding in the resting area. The removal of faecal residues and any waste residues can take place via partial slatted solutions (and under-floor scrapers), or with slide manure removal in the animal area. The PigGuard pendulum-scraper with obstacle detection improves safety for animals and personnel when passing the danger zones between the bay partitions, and therefore facilitates the use of automatic above-ground scraper manure removal in the pig pen area for the first time.
With the innovative PigGuard manure removal control, obstacles such as pigs in front of grid partitions are recognised and slowly passing the danger zone is possible. In this way, it is possible to use surface manure removal in pig pens.
Schauer Farmmanagement 4.0
With the concept of Schauer Farmmanagement 4.0, Schauer offers intra-system hardware and software components with which feed, ventilation, silo weights, etc., can be monitored and managed. With the NFC technology, familiar from payment systems, tasks are performed quickly and without tedious inputs in the SmartControl. Data can be stored locally within the organisation, and can be additionally made available on the Cloud as a backup for inter-operations management.
With Schauer FarmManagement 4.0, the innovative puzzle pieces of the Schauer FarmManager (online animal management) are consolidated by the SmartControl for smart operation of the systems and Cloud data management.
Spotmix 3 - Speed
Spotmix multiphase feeding has been the undisputed technology leader for pig feeding for over 20 years now, and has been successfully used many thousands of times over. The redesign - Spotmix 3 - facilitates the use of even more feeding components in an elegant and compact format. The program update for the TOPO Spotmix feeding software now enables an automatic feed curve change in accordance with actual consumption and therefore saves additional feed costs. The “Speed” package is the perfect “tuning option” with enhanced performance of up to 35% compared to the standard equipment for large operations.
The Spotmix multiphase feeding system, which has been the leading technology for over 20 years now, has been technically redesigned and facilitates enhanced performance of up to 35% with the “Speed” option. This is good news for large farms.
Compident 8 Simultan electronic feeding
Following calls from the international pig market, Schauer is now re-launching the Compident Simlutan electronic feeding system, which - in the past - tended to be used in German-speaking regions for smaller sow operations for fixed groups. The design and control of the feeding station have been adapted to the latest version of the Compident 8 electronic feeding system, and now enable fully flexible adjustment of the feed units to the stock size for fixed or dynamic sow groups. The decisive advantage: the function sequence is controlled, water metering takes place, colour marking and repeat breeding control are possible. Because the individual sows are unable to influence the feeding process and function sequence, it is possible to feed up to 25 sows with one feed station.
The advantages of rationed feed with pregnant sows are well-known to all pig farming operations. The newly revised Compident Simlutan electronic feeding system combines all advantages of electronic feeding with the simplicity of self-catching gestation crate farming.
Babyfeed suckling pig feeder fermentation system
With this system, Schauer is introducing a fully-automatic fermentation system for the Schauer Babyfeed suckling pig feeder. With this, it is possible to offer fermented feed using the tried-and-tested batch method right from the first day. Treatment and preparation, as well as complete hygiene management, take place fully automatically. This means that the operator incurs no additional fees. The new automatic pneumatic trough cleaning system for Babyfeed saves extensive working time and improves the hygiene and therefore also the feed intake of the piglet feed.
Additional feeding of the suckling pigs with Babyfeed has wholly proven itself in high-performance pig breeding operations. The fermentation also improves the health of the piglets and promotes feed consumption and growth.
MamaDos Pro sow feeder
MamaDos is a computer-controlled dry feed metering system, which is individually actuated for each animal by a central TOPO feeding computer, and which dispenses feed in accordance with freely adjustable feeding intervals or sensor-controlled feed. MamaDos Pro is a functional further development for the convenient control of important basic functions at each feeding station. It is also possible to actuate a water valve for individual watering. Using the browser-based PigManagerSmart, it is possible to access the feeding station data directly on the central TOPO feeding computer.
The MamaDos Pro sow feeder is a further development for convenient control and status display at every metering unit.
BeFree 2.0 – animal welfare farrowing pen
An increasing number of pig breeding operations are using so-called free movement pens, either voluntarily or due to financial incentives. BeFree has already made a name for itself here throughout Europe, and has now been functionally further developed to expand the size of the piglet nest as required. This enables more flexible adjustment of the length and width of the pen, and means that driving the sows in and out is easier and more convenient, thanks to the pivoting pen wall.
In the field of free movement pens, BeFree has already gained a good reputation throughout Europe and has been thoroughly tried and tested. Further developments now mean even greater flexibility.
WelCon Bio complete organic farrowing pen system
The WelCon Bio organic farrowing pen has been patented since 2012 and has become the new standard for organic pig farrowing pens in German-speaking regions. In order to ease and improve the financial and work-related planning and calculability of new organic farrowing pen constructions, Schauer Agrotronic has developed the WelCon Bio organic farrowing pen system. Depending on the desired degree of internal activity, the system can be delivered in formats right up to a turnkey pig pen.
The WelCon Bio organic farrowing pen has replaced the previous FAT2 standard. The new complete stall concept enables the simple and calculable construction of the organic farrowing pen.
COW HOUSING sectorFARO feed pushing robot – all-in-one
FARO is a new and elaborate concept that combines all the functions of equipment already on the market, and has even more to offer. The feed pushing robot from Schauer is not only able to transport feed to the feeding fence in both directions, it is also capable of mixing two types of concentrated feed if required. Through innovative technology, the status and log data are uploaded directly to the Cloud and can therefore be accessed from any location. With the FaroSmart app, you can conveniently manoeuvre and teach the robot.
The FARO is the latest generation of feeding robot and combines all the functional advantages of the equipment on the market at a particularly attractive price.
POULTRY HOUSING, COW HOUSING and PIG HOUSING sectorStrohmatic Air – automatic straw distribution system for poultry houses
Straw distribution in poultry houses (in particular in turkey and duck sheds) is time-consuming, and is frequently associated with high levels of dust pollution due to the use of tractor shredders. Strohmatic Air is a semi-automatic straw distribution system that de-dusts the shredded straw and pneumatically transports it into the house. The desired switches are controlled by remote control, and the straw is distributed as required with a flexible hose and without significant dust pollution. The system therefore not only saves working time and straw - straw distribution also becomes a pleasure once more.
Strohmatic Air is a further development of the popular Strohmatic straw distribution system, with pneumatic distribution of the de-dusted and shredded straw for poultry houses, cow sheds and pig pens.
