Nufarm's CARNADINE insecticide is based on acetamiprid which has recently been relisted by EU authorities for 15 years, classified as a low-risk substance. Registrations have been granted in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Poland, and the product is awaiting approval in Bulgaria and Slovakia. CARNADINE offers superior and sustainable efficacy against major pests in oil seed rape, fruit and vegetable production, and has been deemed as non-harmful to honey bees, which gives to it a unique profile, fitting particularly well to integrated pest management programs.
“This product is an important cornerstone for our future,” says Hugo Schweers, General Executive Manager of Nufarm Europe. “After Nufarm's recent investment in a broad portfolio of solutions for farmers, CARNADINE is the company's biggest launch this year,” Mr Schweers adds.
Insecticides are essential and a challenge for the future, as global warming will significantly increase insect's damages to crop, according to scientific community. Although acetamiprid belongs to the group of neonicotinoids, it differs significantly from the active ingredients whose use was significantly restricted in the past year. Acetamiprid has been classified by the regulatory authorities as being non-harmful to honey bees. An essential tool in integrated pest management, CARNADINE is the sustainable insecticide solution farmers across Europe have been waiting for.
