Many further developments to be presented by GRIMME at the Potato Europe

On the 4th and 5th September 2019, the next PotatoEurope will take place in Cain, Belgium, near Tournai. GRIMME will once again demonstrate a large number of machines this year.

For the first time the EVO 280, a two-row bunker harvester, will be presented to an international audience. The EVO 280 is uniquely characterised by an impressive separating performance, generated by three large separating devices. With a bunker capacity of 8 tons, it is also possible harvest the crop in long fields with frequent unloading. As standard, all EVO 280 machines are equipped with a telemetry unit that transmits parameters of the machine and its location to the customer portal, myGRIMME, on request. The user can retrieve and process the transmitted data at myGRIMME via an internet browser.

The two-row bunker harvester, EVO 280, has an 8-ton bunker and 3-metre transport width.

For visitors who are interested in elevator harvesters, the three-row GT 300 will be present at PotatoEurope. The unique feature of the GT 300 is that it can achieve an increased performance of up to 50 % per crossing, compared to a two-row elevator harvester.

In the field of self-propelled machinery, the four-row potato harvester, the VARITRON 470, with its special wheeled chassis, will be demonstrated. The MultiSep separator will be present, in combination with a fine haulm elevator, showcasing the high separation performance. The ring elevator of the machine is equipped with the perforated conveying system, called OptiBag. This achieves a further cleaning effect, and at the same time leads to very gentle crop transport.

The highlight of the field demonstration is the 4-row self-propelled potato harvester, the VENTOR 4150. The VENTOR 4150 is the first 4-row harvester which is based on the well proven SE principle. This principle combines sieving, conveying and haulm separation. For the first time it has been possible to double the working width, compared to 2-row SE systems. In addition to doubled amount of rows, there are also twice as many separators on board of the machine. Thanks to its manoeuvrability and working width of 3 metres, the VENTOR can easily be moved into any corner.

From the cab of the VENTOR 4150, the driver has a perfect view onto the entire intake of the harvester.

Since 2017, all self-propelled harvesters and the trailed bunker harvester of the EVO series have been equipped with a telemetry unit as standard. This allows the user to view the position of the machine displayed on a map in the customer portal, myGRIMME. Customers can also see real-time machine parameters such as hectare output and diesel consumption.

The RH 24-60 receiving hopper will also be demonstrated live to the public in the exhibition area for handling equipment. For the separation of clods, stones and potatoes, the unique two-stage stone and clod separation system is integrated into the RH24-60.

The new twin conveyor, the TC800 series, will be demonstrated for the first time on this international field day. It was developed for gentle conveying of the crop from the receiving hopper to the store filler. The award-winning belt lifting mechanism "airbag" is used to transfer the potatoes from the first to the second conveyor belt in an extremely gentle way. The cleverly designed chassis, with offset tandem wheels, ensures that the conveyor belt can be moved easily on the intake side and sideways by a single person.

The new twin conveyors of the TC 800 series enable movement of the store filler, without having to move the entire storage line.

The large SL 80-18 Quantum is used as the subsequent store loader. The Quantum principle, a specifically developed intake-conveyor, ensures a much gentler crop transfer than a standard receiving system, regardless of the swivel and inclination angle of the store loader.

In addition the GL 860 Compacta, an 8-row, foldable cup planter, will be present. It unites the advantages of highest area outputs with the possibilities of fast field changes with a compact, road approved planter. The four-row belt planter, the GB 430, will also be present at the GRIMME stand. With the GB 430, high working speeds of up to 10 km/h are possible, depending on tuber sorting, tuber size, planting distance, machine equipment and soil conditions.
