At €13.43 billion, the 2019 value was 7.3% above the level the year before. Meanwhile, monthly agri-food imports decreased slightly to €9.78 billion, which is 5.7% below the level of November 2018. As a result, the monthly agri-food trade surplus reached €3.65 billion. The highest increases in monthly export values were recorded for China, Turkey and Egypt. In terms of products, the increase was driven mainly by pork, wheat and offal.
The monthly report also presents an overview of the agri-food trade in the last 12-month period, covering the trade balance, its development by product category and the EU's main trading partners.
