The EU-27's agricultural trade experienced some slowdown in April 2020 amid the coronavirus crisis. Exports and imports fell 9% and 5% respectively, falling below the level of the previous month.
However, the figures for the total agricultural trade of the 27 over the first 4 months of 2020 (including export and import) exceeded those of the same period of 2019 by 3.8% and reached the value of € 104.3 billion. Agri-food exports to the EU over this period amounted to € 61.9 billion (an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period of 2019) and imports to € 4.4 billion (an increase of 2.3%).
