At the occasion of the Pre-Summit of the United Nations Food System Summit (UNFSS), Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski and Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery of Japan Kōtarō Nogami, met in Rome to strengthen European and Japanese ties in the field of agriculture and rural development.
Specifically, they jointly recognised the crucial importance of the questions raised by the United Nations in the preparation for the upcoming Food System Summit – in particular, in relation to the challenges posed to agriculture and rural areas as backbones of food systems.
