Kramer was again represented at international agricultural trade fairs this year. The trade fair appearances are dominated by zero emission, as two new electric machines are presented to the visitors at once.
Zero emission – time for clean air
The innovations in the zero emission sector: In 2016, Kramer was the first manufacturer to present the all-wheel steered e-wheel loader, which was awarded numerous innovation prizes at the time. This year, Kramer is showing the successor to today's successful model, the KL25.5e. The largest e-wheel loader in the Kramer portfolio is equipped with a 96-volt lithium-ion battery for a runtime of up to 4 hours without intermediate charging. From a design perspective, the e-wheel loader also impresses with its flattened battery hood design for optimum rear visibility. Regardless of the e-technology, the loader offers compact dimensions while delivering optimal performance values in stacking and bucket operation. With a stacking payload of 1,750 kilograms and an operating weight of 3,800 kilograms, the wheel loader is in no way inferior to its diesel counterpart.
The second zero emission highlight is an ultra-compact, electric telescopic loader, the KT144e. Here, too, the 96-volt lithium-ion technology is installed. With its dimensions, a height of less than 2 metres and a width of about 1.60 metres, as well as its maximum operating weight of 3,250 kilograms, it has amazing performance data. Both the performance parameters, off-road mobility and its ease of operation match the characteristics of the conventional Kramer KT144 diesel telescopic handler. The overall performance of the vehicle even exceeds that of the diesel model: thanks to the electric motor, power is immediately available in the travel drive and in the loading system. The maximum speed of the e-telescopic loader is 25 km/h. An 18 kWh or 28 kWh battery is available for this model.
The subject of charging has been completely rethought for both machines. Not only has the charging capacity of the on-board charger been significantly increased, but above all great importance has been attached to improved accessibility to the charging plug. Uniform operation across all products was just as important as the integration of the standardised Type 2 plug, which is known from the automotive sector. In the future, it will therefore not matter whether you charge at a conventional household socket, an industrial socket, a wallbox or a public charging point. “zero emission is increasingly becoming the focus of attention in agriculture. Due to falling or stagnating feed-in tariffs, the use of one's own electricity has become more attractive. But the low noise emissions also play a major role when you think of livestock farms or holiday farms, for example," explains Christian Stryffeler, Managing Director of Kramer-Werke GmbH.
New design for the telehandlers
Kramer's telehandler series from 3 - 5.5 tonnes payload has been given a facelift, which will be shown for the first time during the autumn fairs SIMA, EIMA and EuroTier. Visibility of the working area is a crucial element in telescopic loaders. Combined with a focus on safety, Kramer can score with a new engine bonnet design that is used on the KT356, KT307, KT357, KT3610, KT407 and KT457 machines. The result is the best possible view to the right. In addition, features such as the differential lock and load stabiliser have been updated. The other innovations, such as the optimisation of the ecospeedPRO drive for the large models from KT457-KT559, or a mechanical 100% differential lock in the front axle, also offer customers significant added value. The functionality of the machines is therefore optimal for agricultural applications such as in biogas plants and stables.
Smart Attach – The fully hydraulic quick hitch system
With Smart Attach, attachments with additional hydraulic functions, such as a sweeper or a silage bucket, can be coupled and uncoupled in seconds without having to leave the cab. With Smart Attach, the 3rd control circuit, which previously had to be connected manually with additional hydraulic hoses, is automatically connected to the attachment via the quick coupler's locking pins. This results in a considerable time saving of about 2.5 minutes per coupling process. With 10 attachment changes per working day and an hourly rate of 30 €, 90 hours or almost 3,000 € are saved annually. Operation of the quick coupler remains as simple as usual and the driver needs no instruction. The special feature of the Kramer system is that existing attachments can be combined with the quick-change plate or Smart Attach attachments can be coupled with existing machines, which means full flexibility. A retrofit kit for existing Kramer hydraulic attachments is also available. In addition, the CE declaration of conformity is provided in conjunction with Kramer attachments ex works.
"The international agricultural trade fairs such as SIMA, EIMA and EuroTier are always a highlight for us, but this year we are particularly pleased to be able to present Kramer products and above all the innovations to our visitors in person," Christian Stryffeler concludes.
