After a gloomy start to the year we finally see some sunshine - perfect weather to visit a few agricultural shows! We've got a busy few weeks ahead packed with many events to get involved with. Head over to the Royal Highland Show and the Royal Norfolk Show.

Puma CVX 160 Reverse Drive!

A family in Wiltshire have taken delivery of the first Case IH Puma CVX Reverse Drive tractor in the UK for their grazing land at Farnicombe Farm in Salisbury Plain near Upton Scudamore. Due to Natural England guidelines, no soil engaging tools can be used on pastures around Salisbury Plain and shrubs and bracken have to be controlled which has led to the destruction of several trailed toppers. Farnicombe farmer, Jim Dufosee, purchased a rear mounted/reverse drive unit but needed to drive the tractor in reverse. T H White Proagri Salesman, Nick Norman, came up with the solution to this problem and suggested the purchase of a Case IH Puma CVX 160 Reverse Drive. These specialist tractors are manufactured in Austria and then shipped to the UK. Nick Norman says that the new system is invaluable for any application where tractors need to be driven in reverse.

Case IH Police Tractor Still Popular at the Suffolk Show!

Once again the Case IH Puma 160 police tractor attracted the crowds at this year's Suffolk Show. Working alongside the Suffolk Constabulary, Case IH were pleased to assist with the ‘Shutting the gate on Rural Crime' project and budding young drivers were able to win a limited edition model of the police tractor by filling in a competition form. The unit includes a fitted tracker to promote tractor safety and features rear fenders and fend off lights. The tractor highlights the importance of protecting rural properties.

Legoland Family Day with Case IH

A couple of weeks ago we had an enjoyable day at the Case IH Legoland Family Day in Windsor. Over 60 families attended the VIP event and received a warm welcome from the Case IH Sales and Marketing team on their arrival at the park. Customers were given a short presentation on the Case IH brand before re-joining their families who were busy enjoying the various attractions of the theme park; the children were exceptionally good at the “spot the Case IH tractors and combines” game in the miniature Garden Of England exhibit! A big thank you to those who were able to attend.

Former Rugby Captain hands over keys to the winner of the Silver Edition Magnum 340 at Cereals

We had an exciting couple of days on the Case IH stand at Cereals this week where hundreds of people came to see the auction of a limited edition, 25th Anniversary Silver Magnum 340. The Magnum, the only one of its kind in the UK, raised over £26,000 for charity to benefit The Prince´s Countryside Fund.

Phil Vickery, former England Rugby Captain and ambassador to the charity, presented the keys of the unique Silver Edition Magnum 340 to Bob Vaughan, of Startin Tractors in Warwickshire, whose final bid of £113,500 drew applause from a crowd of more than 900 spectators. Minister of State for Agriculture and Food, David Heath, was also on the stand showing support for the event. Case IH donated all income above half the £174,465 list price to The Prince´s Countryside Fund´s emergency relief fund which supports farming and rural crisis charities. The Fund received £26,267 from the auction, which was conducted by Bill King from Cheffins. Charles Blessley, UK Marketing Manager for Case IH, said: "We are very pleased that so many people came to the auction and with the generosity of the people who put in a bid. I´m delighted to see that this unique machine has helped raise money for such a worthy cause."

Victoria Harris, Director of The Prince´s Countryside Fund, said: "We are very grateful to everyone who took part and donated their time and energy to make this such a successful fundraising event. The money raised will make a real difference to farmers who are experiencing hardship."
