Dairymaster launch six new rotary milking parlours milking more cows in less time with less labour

Dairymaster have today announced that they are launching six options of their high-performance Swiftflo Revolver cow rotary milking parlours due to market feedback and demand. The market leader in rotary milking systems in Ireland and the UK identified a need in the marketplace and have developed the six options to ensure that there is a Swiftflo Revolver parlour available to suit every farm and every pocket.

They recognised that most people only install one rotary in a lifetime, it's one of the most important decisions and choosing the right system is of utmost importance. Because of this Dairymaster launched a new range of options to make rotary milking accessible to every farmer.

The Swiftflo Performance is their entry level range. It is suitable for entry level farms with little automation. These are aimed at the farmer who wants to get the right size rotary while allowing them to add automation features when their budget allows and dependent on what is right for their farm.

The Swiftflo Optimum are the mid-range options. It is suitable for typical family farms with some automation. These incorporate some of the smart automation features that Dairymaster are renowned for including the Swiftflo Pulse, Retention, Milk Diversion and much more.

The Swiftflo Endurance range is designed for people who want a fully automated solution and is suitable for industrial use. It is aimed at large scale farms with full automation milking many cows. This system has the most advanced technologies including the Swiftflo Commander, Auto ID, Milk Manager, Voice Assist and much more. Each range has a plus option with an extra level of automation and additional features.

The entire range of Dairymaster rotary parlours are of a very sound structure with strength where it matters meaning it is built to last and this is evident when you look at rotary parlours installed by Dairymaster. For example, Tom & Simon Brown, Greenhills dairy installed the first generation Dairymaster Swiftflo Revolver 18 years ago and it is currently milking over 1,000 cows a day.

Included in all the range is their recent development Rotaglide which is like the suspension system in a car. It reduces maintenance, improves cow comfort and helps your rotary parlour last much longer.

The Swiftflo Revolver has a well-earned reputation for being extremely cow friendly and safe due to its design with sensors at both the cow entry and exit. The unrivalled throughput you get from a Swiftflo Revolver is one of the key things farmers look at and this is due to the consistent cow flow achievable with Dairymaster milking systems.

Dairymaster rotaries milk more cows in less time with less labour, it's a must-have for any forward-thinking dairy farmer interested in high performance milking and value for money.

Dairymaster takes milking to a whole new level with its new Mission Control

Dairymaster Mission Control is a next generation rotary parlour interface controlling all of the milking operation with two-way interaction that puts Artificial Intelligence at the fingertips of the operator. It has many innovative features including CowNow which is an advanced cow recognition system allowing for double verification and OptiCruise which dynamically adjusts parlour speed so that milking time is optimised.

Mission Control takes visual management to a whole new level by using digitization to provide the operator an overview of the entire milking operation. The system pre-empts the information to be displayed based on each individual cow and makes it easy for the operator to take specific actions when necessary e.g. performing a CMT when SCC suddenly increases or withholding the milk from an animal during the withdrawal period. It gives real-time cow-level and herd-level key performance indicators (KPI's), including cluster-attachment time, rotary stoppages, cow throughput, expected finishing time, backing-gate position, feed remaining and milk-tank status and much more.  Further, the system uses advanced visualizations to inform the user of cow-status, including problem cows, and allows for immediate actioning of the problem cows e.g. draft for veterinary check or divert milk. Clear data visualization leads to better management of the milking process and gives the operator the right information at the right time during milking.

Dairymaster's breakthrough in cow recognition, CowNow delivers higher accuracy and doubly verifies the identity of each cow. This reduces the risk of antibiotics or undesirable milk ending up in the milk tank.  This is critical in a world where food safety and traceability are of paramount importance to the consumer.

The OptiCruise is the first technology of its kind that uses Artificial Intelligence and Mathematical Optimization to enable a faster and more efficient milking on a rotary system.  It works in principle like a Sat Nav in that it finds the fastest, most optimal route, taking changing delays and operator preferences into account. This innovation saves the farmer a substantial amount of time since the rotary is performing at its optimum speed. It also means shorter standing times in the collecting yard - a proven factor in reducing lameness cases, leading to improved animal welfare.

With OptiCruise less labour is required as milking time is typically reduced by 20% to 30% for each milking. The increased cow throughput and more efficient operation can also reduce the capital investment required  for a given herd size. Farmers also get better value for money on their investment as by employing “lean” methodology their rotary will be working optimally. For example, in a herd that normally takes two hours to milk, savings of 20 to 40 minutes per milking are typically seen.  The increased cow throughput and productivity means that a farmer who invests in a 40-unit rotary with this technology gets performance benefits greater than a typical 50-unit rotary.

Another major advantage is the reduction in electricity usage which means lower running costs and less water usage as the rotary will be typically running 20% to 30% less. Improved diagnostics with system health information and notifications further reduces maintenance and keeps the farm running smoothly.

Data alone has no intrinsic value, it's what you do with the data that creates value. The Dairymaster Mission Control takes complex data and processes it into easy actionable tasks which makes a major impact on dairy farms. This innovation means Dairymaster is taking milking to a whole new level.
