C5000 combines are powered by Deutz TCD L6 Tier 3A 6.1 engines with exclusive, proprietary DEUTZ-FAHR solutions allowing power transmission on both sides of the engine. This makes it possible to separate hydraulic and mechanical functions, ensuring a direct transmission system with no power losses. With common rail fuel injection, 12 valves and an electronic engine governor, Deutz TCD L6 6.1 engines are powerful  and reliable and capable of delivering constant power even in the event of sudden peaks in load. Maximum power for the C5205 is 160 HP (118 kW), while the C5305 has a maximum power of 180 HP (132 kW).

Forward speed is controlled from the multifunction joystick, which also offers control of the main functions of the cutter bar. Both models are equipped with a 3 speed hydrostatic transmission.

All versions are offered with high performance cutter bars measuring 3.6, 4.2, or 4.8 metres in width. The  proven construction and the Schumacher Easy Cut II system ensures uniform  and safe cutting  of the crop in all conditions with minimised wear and fuel consumption.

The new C5000 features a threshing drum system measuring 600 millimetres in diameter and 1.11 metres in width, and an exclusive concave with independently controllable front and rear grill aperture.

Separation performance is optimised by the superior capabilities of the threshing system and by long, enclosed straw walkers..

Superior grain cleanliness and quality are ensured by other exclusive, tried and tested DEUTZ-FAHR components such as: the  one peice grain preparation pan, full width  fan, generously sized sieves and the DGR (Double Grain Return) system.

Boasting a 4600 litre grain tank - the biggest in this class - the C5000 is capable of discharge speeds of 75 l/s, while the discharge pipe can be operated in any  operation, even while harvesting. Straw and Chaff can also be managed by the latest  chaff spreader and a straw chopper options from Deutz-Fahr.

Seamlessly integrated into the new design, the COMMANDER EVO CAB  offers all the control and adjustment functions required to operate the combine harvester, and features ergonomically designed controls to ensure driver comfort and safety both on the road and in the field. The engagement for the primary functions (cutter bar, threshing system and grain discharge) are operated from mechanical levers on the left of the driver. A performance monitoring system may be used to keep tabs on a host of operating parameters from  fan speed to threshing drum speed and grain loss.

A number of intelligent constructional solutions facilitate day-to-day and unscheduled maintenance, offering easy, quick access to the drivetrain and other key components of the machine.
