The energy supply, especially in the first third of lactation, can only be ensured by using high-quality bypass energy sources, which are then easily digestible in the small intestine and thus metabolically available for milk production. Products based on palm oil - mainly fractionated or as calcium soap - are used here with good success. "With the special product RUPIOL Sunline a new, very energy-rich bypass feed is now available, with which energy sources based on palm oil can be completely replaced in high performance rations", says Mladen Jarnjak, director of the company Fanon d.o.o from Petrijanec (Croatia). "We are particularly pleased that we were able to implement the development of the application of RUPIOL Sunline in close partnership with GELAMIN - Gesellschaft für Tierernährung mbH from Wildeshausen (Germany), a company specialised in dairy cow feeding," Mladen Jarnjak continues.
RUPIOL Sunline is a combination of regionally produced non GMO components and the application of a modular manufacturing technology unique for the compound feed industry, the Module Processing Feed Technology. In the first process step, pressurehydrothermally treated rapeseed expeller is concentrated with highly digestible cold-pressed rape oil. In a further step, the feed particles are coated with a specially produced high-melting sunflower fat and
protected from degradation in the rumen. Predrag Persak, product development manager at Fanon d.o.o., explains: "In this way an innovative bypass energy concentrate with at least 35% total fat is produced, which is highly stable in the rumen and provides highly digestible energy in the small intestine from bypass oils with a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The bypass protein in RUPIOL Sunline from the vegetable non GMO components promotes milk protein formation. The sulphur-containing amino acids contained in it also support the metabolism of the high-performance cow's energy supply".
"RUPIOL Sunline enables all milk producers to comply with the increasing consumer demand to refrain from palm oil products in feeding while maintaining full
performance. RUPIOL Sunline thus represents a significant contribution to sustainable milk production", explains Wilfried Grueber, General Sales Manager of GELAMIN. "This year's dramatic harvest results in particular are a very great challenge for milk producers. With RUPIOL Sunline the energy supply of dairy cows in particular can be promoted very well", Wilfried Grueber sums up the current feeding situation.
"We will be presenting RUPIOL Sunline to a broad international trade audience for the first time during EuroTier 2018 and look forward to the technical discussions at our stands Fanon in Hall 20 Stand B29 and GELAMIN in Hall 15 Stand C22", concluded Mladen Jarnjak and Wilfried Grueber with a view to
the leading trade fair in Hanover in November.
