Case IH News - May 2012

Agro Napló
Spring is here! The season brings a number of great events and shows to attend across the UK and Ireland. From the Bath & West Grasslands show in Somerset to the FTMTA show in Birr, we’ll be showcasing a full range of our machinery at a number of popular shows around the country. We hope to see you there!

Efficient Power Spring Demo Tour

We had a busy and successful end to our Puma Efficient Power Spring Demo Tour at the end of last month. We had excellent customer attendance over the two weeks, as the demo team travelled around the country to Askham Bryan College, Shuttleworth College, Harper Adams University and finally the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. Customers had the opportunity to operate a number of Puma models with a variety of implements attached. The Case IH team presented a fuel comparison test using a dynamometer which showed once again, a significant fuel saving when using the Efficient Power tractor in comparison to the Tier 3. Tests undertaken at these colleges showed a total financial saving (combined fuel and Adblue) of between 13% and 16% verses a Tier 3.

Dealer Open Days

Last month a number of Case IH dealers were offering informative open days to customers.

In Dorchester, Richard Cuzens the new Managing Director of Bredy, provided the ideal setting of Sherborne Castle to show off the new Farmall range and the Magnum Efficient Power from Case IH.

Down in Devon, nearly two years on from the launch of their new South Molton depot, James Pryce Tractors were pleased to welcome new and existing customers to show off the new Case IH Farmall range. There was a buoyant mood amongst the customers who reported that they were very pleased with the high levels of sales and service provided by the team at South Molten.

This year’s Collings Brothers of Abbotsley show featured a guest speaker who raised topics including direct drilling, and ultimately cost saving, something which we can relate to at Case IH with our Efficient Power technologies. Overall the open evening proved to be very successful, showing a lot of interest in Case IH.

Simplicity And Reliability - Case IH Axial-Flow Combines

After 35 years of research, development and pioneering technology, the Axial-Flow combine is stronger than ever. With up to 571 Hp on tap and grain tanks that hold as much as 12,330 litres, the Axial-Flow has the capacity you would expect from Case IH big kit. Requiring very few belts or wearing parts and with a unique reverse drive capability, the Axial-Flow is simply designed to work. We spoke to Axial-flow customers from different parts of the country and asked them what their reasons were for choosing Axial-Flow. Chris Sumner from Wollaston, Northamptonshire, had tried a number of machines from competitors before purchasing an Axial-Flow, which he told us "has a much higher output for the money and is very reliable". The single rotor design enables the machine to maintain high output and the mechanical drives offer superb reliability. Bob Wale from Lutterworth, Leicestershire told us he had been using the same Axial-Flow combine for 25 seasons and says it was just as reliable in its last season when he eventually decided to replace it. The introduction of the Case IH ST rotor provides the Axial-Flow range with the ability to adapt to many crop types in all varieties of climate. Different concave and grates options enable the combine to handle a vast range of different crops. We spoke to A. Cowie, another Axial-Flow owner from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, where weather conditions can be incredibly harsh during the harvest season. Mr. Cowie told us "we've had absolutely nil go wrong - the reliability is 100%".

Case IH combines have lowest running costs

An independent DLG report on extensive real-farm trials has found that Case IH Axial-Flow combines have the lowest total running costs of all the combine harvesters tested. Average running costs, including depreciation, interest and operating costs, worked out at €10.96/tonne for the Case IH Axial Flow machines. By comparison, the other combines supplied by Claas and John Deere for the three-year field test all cost at least €13.29/tonne to run. One of the major reasons for this, according to the independent testers, was the simplicity and reliability of the threshing system used by the Case IH Axial-Flow single-rotor combines

Upcoming Shows and Events in May.
