EIMA International 2012 will mark the return of the sector of machinery and equipment for gardening and groundskeeping in the setting of the great review of agricultural mechanization. The EIMA Green Salon will take over generous areas in pavilions 33 and 34 with a vast range of products exhibited by 146 manufacturing industries. The president of the manufacturers association in the sector, Franco Novello, referred to technologies targeting hobbyists and greens specialists and needed as well by multifunctional agriculture.

The specialized EIMA Green Salon signals the return of the sector of machinery and equipment for gardening and groundskeeping to the fold of the EIMA International review set for November 7 to 11 in Bologna. The great showcase of technologies for the maintenance of parks, sports facilities, home gardening and all activities associated with greenery at the professional and hobbyist levels will take over pavilions 33 and 34 in the Bologna trade fair quarters. These areas, the same as those which hosted EIMA Garden in the past, are in the West sector and accessible directly from the Aldo Moro entrance. The space committed to the sector comes to 11,000 m² made available to 146 exhibiting companies bringing a vast array of green machinery and equipment technologies ranging from mowers, lawn tractors, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, shears and other power and manual tools. Among the companies taking part are 105 Italian industries with the remaining 41 arriving from the United States, Turkey, Belgium, Japan and others abroad. The Italian companies in the EIMA Green Salon are coming from all the regions around the nation with strong representations from the Reggio Emilia Province, 17 exhibitors, and the provinces of Pordenone, Padua and Bologna.

The decision to restore the sector to the EIMA International setting arouse out of the intention to offer these green industries a framework, the structured support and communications organization provided by the great Bologna exposition, to allow businesspeople and sectors of the general public to take in, within the EIMA review, the enormous range of technologies for outdoors work whether solely agricultural or associated with the care and maintenance of greenery.

Franco Novello, the president of Comagarden, the manufacturers association in the sector within FederUnacoma, noted, “Mechanization for agriculture and gardening and groundskeeping are traditionally differentiated according to the type of people involved and distribution channels and presenting the gardening sector in its own space in the EIMA setting was not a casual decision. There are, anyway, important areas of convergence. Sports and recreational activities and tourism are carried out in rural environments as well as multifunctional activities in general and there is a whole series of services farming enterprises can perform today, also in work and maintenance for municipal administrations.” He went on to say work of this nature could “extend the machinery inventory of the farm itself by adding to machinery solely for agriculture types for the care of green areas. Another reason for providing the entire galaxy of mechanization technologies in the same prestigious setting,” he concluded.
