Agreement on the great EIMA Agrimach fair with a commitment to five more biennial editions to 2013. Trials in the field and a Permanent Demonstration Center at the University of Ludhiana in Punjab in the framework of a multi-year program involving the Emilia Romagna Region, the Emilia Romagna Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and FederUnacoma

Cooperation between Italy and India is being firmed up in the agricultural and agri-industry sectors with important new initiatives in the offing. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ficci, and FederUnacoma, the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, officially reported the renewal of a long term contract for staging Eima Agrimach, the great exposition of agricultural mechanization scheduled for December in New Delhi as a fundamental support for the development of trade relations and industrial cooperation between the two countries. The Eima Agrimach exposition, running into its third edition December 5th to 7th, will give huge numbers of Indian operators the opportunity to learn of the machinery and equipment manufactured in Italy and, more in general, of the finest technologies available for agicultual work. The biennial event is now assured of five more edition, from 2015 to 2023, a result which also rewards the Emilia Romagna Region which has backed the trade fair from its first outing in December 2009 on.

The regional commissioner for production activities, Gian Carlo Muzzarelli, commented, “The positive results brought in over these years provide the best stimulus for the Emilia Romagna Region for strengthening economic and business relations with India and this is happening with a multi-year plan which involves mechanization and the agri-industry other than technological and construction areas. We go there, and we do so with systematic logic, with the important involvement of the Emilia Romagna Chamber of Commerce, FederUnacoma and the Indian-Italian Chamber of Commerce. The Made in Emilia Romagna products are a guarantee of quality and excellence; it’s basic to continue promoting them in the world with suitable showcases,” he emphasized.

Aside from the New Delhi trade fair event, other initiatives successfully completed include the trials of agricultural machinery in the field held March 15th and 16th on the grounds of the Farm Ladhowal University in the city of Ludhiana in the State of Punjab, the business to business meetings of Indian businesspeople and Emilia Romagna industry representatives in Ludhiana on March 17th and the creation of a Permanent Demonstration Center at the Farm Ladhowal University.

The center will be always accessible for Made in Italy mechanization technologies for trails of function and demonstrations and training courses for local technicians.

FederUnacoma President Massimo Goldoni declared, “India is a country with extraordinary potential, as seen by some 600,000 tractors sold on national territory last year, but must not be considered as a pure and simple trade outlet for our products rather as a partner in the work of experiments, research, promotions and building new manufacturing installations on site. This is the key for correct access to the Indian market and, for this, the development of economic relations which respect the needs, the development models and the sensitivies of this great Asian nation.”

Alberto Zambianchi, the president of the Forlì–Cesena Province Chamber of Commerce in the Emilia Romagna Region, said, “Italian agricultural machinery has no rivals for reliability, flexibility and adaption to the needs of customers and can thus respond to the requirement of the various local end-users who accompanied the industries during their recent mission in Punjab. This recent initiative in the bread basket of India was well organized and had very real returns thanks to the participation and collaboration of local authorities for launching the third year of the Chamber of Commerce project focused on agricultural mechanization production lines and Build to Live. India is a country of opportunity where, with a targeted strategy, it’s possible to consolidate trade relations and productive partnerships.,” he added.
