JOSKIN RECEIVES THE "MARIANNE DE CRISTAL 2013"

03.23.2013 Liège – JOSKIN wins the economic award "Marianne de Cristal" for its trade exchanges with France.

The "Marianne de Cristal" is a unique and prestigious economic award, created in 1995, that honors, every year, a company that particularly developed its trade with France. Organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Belgian Provinces of Liege and Luxembourg in partnership with the French embassy in Belgium, the prize is nonetheless open to all Walloon companies – subject to certain criteria – operating in the fields of production, distribution and services.

The results of the 2013 edition were revealed on March 28th in the prestigious environment of the "Cercle de Wallonie" during a gala evening that brought together economic, political and cultural figures in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of France, Mr. Bernard Valero.

The jury, composed of independent prominent figures, recognized for their skills in economy and trade, gave their decision under the supervision of a bailiff. To choose JOSKIN, the jury emphasized on the regular trade exchanges between JOSKIN and France, the presence of a production unit of the Group in Bourges since 2002, the recent commitment made in December 2012 with the takeover of the Leboulch company that was in difficulty, and the hundreds of jobs the JOSKIN Group provides with these two units.

The "Marianne de Cristal" trophy is a symbolic work, designed by the artist and master glassmaker from Liège, Jacques Royen, and created by the prestigious Val Saint Lambert crystal factory..

EXTENSION OF THE DRAKKAR RANGE

Following its growing success, the Drakkar range is expanded and is now available in 5 models: DR6600/29D180, DR7600/33D180, DR8600/37D180, DR8600/37T180 and DR9600/41T180.

So the capacities of the DRAKKAR range from 29 to 41 m³ DIN. The capacity can be further increased by adding extensions and can reach 54 m³ DIN for the largest model!

The Drakkar multi-purpose trailer

The innovation above all lies in the unloading. The moving front wall is driven by a Ultra High Resistance (U.H.R.) self-rolling conveyor belt. The material is literally transported out of the body.

The body is a perfectly grain tight construction. The front wall is fitted with side scraping strips making it possible to completely empty the body while preventing the material from spilling over to the front or the sides. It is important to emphasize the great unloading consistency, which does not compress the material at all: the moving wall only goes along with the material, without pushing it.

At the back of the body, the conveyor belt winds automatically. The low required power highly reduces the fuel consumption.

AFRICA JUMPS ON THE INDUSTRIAL AGRICULTURE BANDWAGON

It is in the heart of the African continent, in the middle of the Sierra Leone, that JOSKIN delivered a batch of 12 Trans-SPACE 7500/25BC150 tipping trailers to a sugar cane farm.

Covering approximately 10.000 ha, this plantation is expecting to produce, in a near future, approx. 85.000 m³ of ethanol and 100.000 MWh of renewable energy a year. This will be done thanks to the supply of the refinery and plants irrigation system by a biomass plant that will function with fibre and sugar cane residues. A power of 15 MW will so be brought to the Sierra Leone´s national network.

In 2014, the production should be fully operational and will generate approximately 2.000 jobs.

Furthermore, the hiring of arable lands encouraged economical development and allows to protect local communities and natural resources (the inhabitants can meet their families´ needs, send their children to school, build new houses and develop new economical activities).

The unloading is optimal: stability, safety, rapidity without any residue in the body and fluidity along the synthetic walls.

Beside the unloading, the loading possibilities should also be stressed: except for the traditional upper filling, it is also possible to load bales or other packed goods via the rear door.

For JOSKIN, this system is synonymous with high profitability for the user: unloading rapidity and consistency, stability, energy saving, multifunctionality ...all this with the proven traction ease of the JOSKIN chassis with the Hydro-Tandem and Hydro-Tridem running gears.

NAMPO HARVEST DAY - SOUTH AFRICA

The Nampo Show, organized by the Grain South Africa (GSA or Grain SA) and described as one of the most important shows in the world, took place in the state of Free State (South Africa) and specifically in the Nampo Park of Bothaville.

80.000: that is the number of inhabitants of the city of Bothaville and of the neighbouring canton of Kgotsong, but it is also the number of people who visited the fair from 14th to 17th May.

Welcomed by 600 exhibitors spread on a surface of 24 hectares, the visitors especially appreciated the demonstration area covering 80 hectares where manufacturers of agricultural machines could exhibit their wide range of products and demonstrate their advantages.

Welcoming the farmers from neighbouring countries like Eastern Cape, Namibia, Mpumalanga, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Botswana, Swaziland and Lesotho, the Nampo proves once again its dynamic and international character.

Established in an area that produces a lot of maize, this fair was previously intended for suppliers of this cereal. Adapting to exhibitors´ and agricultural professionals´ new needs, the fair is now welcoming all farmers.

This year, the event organized a forum supervised by experts where several discussions on the "future" took place during the four days.

Our local dealer, Agramex SA, who had established in 2010 a branch in South Africa, presented a Modulo2 12.000 MEB slurry tanker and a Siroko S5013/12V muck spreader to the public.

JOSKIN TECHNIQUE IN GEORGIA
Georgia is located at the south of the Caucasus, with the mountains of the Great Caucasus on the north and the Black Sea on the west. The country is protected in the south by the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus.

Thanks to its geographical location (at the north end of the subtropical area), almost all characteristics of the subtropical climate are to be found in Georgia: subtropical humid, temperate humid, temperate dry and continental dry. This offers unique and varied opportunities for the development of different agricultural activities.

The traditional sectors of the Georgian agriculture are: viticulture, horticulture, citrus fruits and tea growing as well as cattle breeding.

The Caucasus mountains, with their wide spaces and the various alpine meadows, offer the best breeding conditions. As a consequence, this sector significantly increased. Georgia houses unique endemic sheep and cow breeds that adapted to the local conditions and are very productive.

Lately, after agriculture was declared a high priority in the country, intensive construction of modern and EU conform farms started next to the import of highly productive bred animals.

By basing themselves on the natural and weather conditions, experts explain the major role of cattle breeding in the recovery of the Georgian economy. According to them, cattle and poultry breeding is as important as high quality milk and meat.

More than half of the Georgian population lives in rural areas. Its activities and prosperity are therefore directly linked to agriculture. Official data underline this fact. The majority of the 729500 Georgian families raises cows or hens. More precisely: 54,8% of the families own cows, 33,6% pigs, 10,3% sheep or goats and 68,8% breed different poultry varieties.

Statistics show the important growth of the number of animals of all breeds between 1995 and 2005. The number of cows increased by 22,4%, that of the pigs by 28,1% and that of the sheep and goats by 12,5%.

It should be underlined that this evolution was followed by the simultaneous growth of the quality and quantity of the products coming from bovines.

Table 1: number of cows and poultry for all categories together (thousand)

Category Year
1990 1995 2000 2005 2007 2009
Bovine 1298,3 973,1 1177,4 1190,6 1048,5 1014,7
Pig 880,2 352,6 443,4 455,3 109,9 135,2
Sheep and goat 1618,1 724,8 627,5 815,3 709,5 673,8
Poultry - - 7825,5 7482,2 6149,7 6674,8

Thanks to the government subsidiaries, modern technologies and techniques were intensively developed.

Currently, these technologies are successfully used in Georgia. It is the case of the technique of the JOSKIN company that is producing slurry and muck spreaders. The spreading technique is particularly demanded by Georgian farmers who wish to find a solution for the use of animal wastes.

Optimal use of animal excrement for fertilizing can represent important savings for a farmer. The JOSKIN technique is thus a significant advantage for farmers and the demand for this products won´t stop growing if we forward the appropriate information on the products to them. Optimal and correct use of farm wastes, environmental preservation and development of tourism are very important to this country, which is an attractive market for the JOSKIN machines. "WORLD TECHNIC" LTD is one of the leaders among the companies installing modern agricultural technologies in Georgia. Thanks to it, the JOSKIN slurry and muck spreaders are successfully used in Georgia. Moreover, WORLD TECHNIC LTD is putting a lot of time and effort into promoting the JOSKIN techniques all over Georgia.
