Dancing girls at Doe show!
Visitors came from far afield to the 54th Doe show this month. The Case IH marquee displayed the unique Platinum Edition Puma tractor along with a Quadtrac 620, the most powerful production tractor in the world.
On the harvester side, the Axial-Flow 7230 with an 8-row maize header created a lot of interest along with the new 742 Farmlift Telehandler.
‘We had a great display from the Case IH fanshop clothing range which was modelled in a catwalk-style show throughout the first two days', said Gerald Silvey, Sales Manager for Ernest Doe.
‘Our tractor sales from the show have yet again proved why we value the Case IH brand within our business and add to the success of Ernest Doe Power', he added.
Case IH will be supporting Ernest Doe at many of the shows during 2014, including Agri Expo, Essex Young Farmers, Suffolk Show and Norfolk show.
Pecks Agritrac Show
Last week over 1,000 visitors attended Pecks Show at their Spalding branch in Lincolnshire. Visitors had the opportunity to look at over 20 Case IH products including combines, Quadtracs, balers and the very latest in tractor technology. The main attractions were a Magnum CVX 370, Maxxum CVX 130 and Farmall 115U Pro. Pecks Agritrac product specialists and Case IH staff were available to answer questions on the day. Levels of interest were high with continued enthusiasm all day, especially towards the hog roast! Wayne Cottam, Brand Manager for Pecks Agritrac said “We would like to express our thanks to all of our customers and other visitors for coming along last week and making it such a successful show”.
Let's Talk Combines
Last week members of the Case IH team attended a meeting in St. Valentin, Austria, which provided an opportunity for all key staff from the European market to discuss combine development. Eric Shuman, the new Senior Director for combine product management, flew over to meet the team and discuss future product development. The key product focus was the new range of headers, in particular the 3152 rigid and 3162 flex draper headers and 4400 series corn headers. Among the topics discussed was the plan to move towards Tier 4b engine emissions. “It's always great to get together with colleagues from other markets to discuss combines“, says Paul Freeman, Product Specialist for Case IH. “Quite often there's a healthy exchange of ideas and advice that enables us to keep moving forward. I'm very excited about the development of the Axial-Flow as we move towards increasing our market share in Europe”.
Forage Aid
Two weeks ago at a Young Farmers conference in Coventry, the topic of discussion was centered around the recent floods that have devastated the UK. After discussions at the conference, the group decided to do something to help those who have been affected by the floods in Somerset by setting up Forage Aid. Ed Ford, an arable farmer from Brentwood led the movement and began by sending a forage-filled lorry to farms in need. The lorry wasn't large enough so Ed contacted Young Farmers in Essex asking for help – he was inundated with replies of pledges and donations and the local media got involved in the hype. Since then farmers have been in convoy arriving in Somerset in tractors and lorries delivering and storing forage, showing their full support. The aid continues and, as Ed says, “There's no industry that rallies round in a crisis like the farming industry does”.
