Milan, 17 November 2014 – One year from the beginning of the 26th edition of SIMEI that will take place in Milan from 17th to 20th November 2015, the tradeshow´s organizer, Unione Italiana Vini, has been already achieving important results in terms of contents and participation.
The exhibiting companies are indeed one of the strongest points of SIMEI: long in advance, all the big players in the sector – enology and bottling technologies, products and services – have reconfirmed their presence. The top level of the exhibition is thus already ensured, which consolidates it as the world leader in wine technology and as an important international showcase for the beverage field.
The most comprehensive supply proposal for the sector will be exhibited at SIMEI and the most effective solutions can take part in the Innovation Challenge, the initiative conceived to highlight to all innovations which relevantly contribute to the evolution of the sector and which will be evaluated for an award by an international Technical-Scientific Committee.
Moreover, the supporting programme of SIMEI 2015 is already full of relevant contents which make this tradeshow an unmissable appointment for professional updating. Unione Italiana Vini has been working for a long time to organize the instructional and informative events regarding the hot topics in the sector.
Two international conferences are on the agenda: on 17th November the update of the important Conference on Sustainability, held during the last edition, coordinated by Prof. Ettore Capri, Director of Opera, Research Centre for sustainable development in agriculture, whereas on 18th November the first International Conference on Sensory Analysis will take place, whose Steering Committee is chaired by Prof. Anita Oberholster, Cooperative Extension Specialist in Enology, Department of Viticulture and Enology of Davis University, California.
Top technology is also the core of CONTAG, the tool introduced for the first time within a wide-range exhibition, precisely on the occasion of SIMEI 2013. Thanks to a simple but sophisticated technological system, the exchange of information between exhibitors and visitors is smoother and complete: a badge-holder with microchip in the hands of the visitor and a smart-station totem with an electronic device loaded with all the information at the exhibiting company´s stand. It will be enough for the visitors to bring their badge-holders within few centimetres of the exhibitors´ device to have the possibility of downloading, into their computers, all useful information concerning the exhibiting company of interest.
This innovative system is indeed consistent with environmental sustainability, as it considerably reduces the use of paper: during the 2013 edition of SIMEI CONTAG allowed to virtually download 18,700 videos, 157,328 brochures, 95,000 business name cards.
SIMEI 2015 will open its doors in exactly one year´s time .
All the updates will be available all the time on the website simei.it.
