Karl-Hubertus Reher (48) will take up his position as LEMKEN's new Head of Sales on 1 January. Mr Reher grew up in the German district of Warendorf; he is a business management graduate and most recently worked with Claas as Regional Director with responsibility for Central Europe. He has held senior positions in export and spare parts sales and has extensive knowledge in these fields. Mr Reher is married and has four children. LEMKEN is delighted to have recruited a manager who not only contributes comprehensive industry experience and qualifications, but also fits in perfectly with the down-to-earth, employee-oriented culture of our family business.
Mr Reher's newly created position will form part of the LEMKEN executive team; previously, sales were managed directly by our Managing Director, Anthony van der Ley. However, as our sales volumes have increased substantially in recent years and our sales regions now cover a vast geographical area extending from Canada to China, it is appropriate to share these responsibilities among two separate positions. The other members of the executive team - experienced managers from our Development, Production and Finance departments - look forward to having a new sparring partner in Mr Reher. LEMKEN's two associates, Viktor and Nicola Lemken, are also members of the executive team.
In 2013, LEMKEN, the agricultural machinery specialist, generated record sales of EUR 364 million, with an export share of 72%. LEMKEN is the German market leader and operates 18 sales and service centres in its domestic market. The company manages its international business via 24 sales subsidiaries. A steadily expanding market will present our new Head of Sales with a wide range of challenges.
