In France, the 93 000-hectare area planted has benefitted from overall satisfactory weather conditions. Under these circumstances, the know-how and commitment of all industry actors have helped reach yields that stand slightly above the targets set at the beginning of the production year. Good results are also to be noted in the other major European producing countries, both within the E.U. (Hungary and Romania) and outside it (Serbia and Ukraine). Consequently, the 2015 plantings will benefit from a satisfactory supply of maize seed everywhere in Europe, both in quantity and quality terms. This will make it possible to support breeding and hybrid renewal.
