ATLANTA/AUSTRIA, January 27th 2015. With the beginning of 2015, Delacon has restructured its Research & Development, Product Management and Innovation teams. These previously separated teams are now united within a new division called ´Product & Innovation´. While remaining Species Leader for Poultry, Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis (52) has become the head of this new division and now directly reports to CEO Markus Dedl.

In Delacon´s new Product & Innovation division the former product management and so called Species Leaders for Poultry, Ruminants and Swine as well as the Research & Development team are brought together under one umbrella. As from the beginning of January 2015 Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis serves as head of this division while remaining Species Leader for Poultry.

Jan Dirk van der Klis becomes Head of Product & Innovation at Delacon

Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis primary task as Head of Product & Innovation will be to unify the former structure into one strong team that makes use of the synergies between them, and to support the interaction between the different species, as well as R&D. "The large overlap of R&D, product management and innovation is obvious in daily business and our new organization will allow us to use synergies even more efficiently. We are absolutely convinced that Jan Dirk van der Klis is the right person for this challenging task", explains Delacon´s CEO Markus Dedl.

Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis joined the Delacon team as Species Leader for Poultry in January 2014. Prior to that, he has led poultry research teams and consulting initiatives for many years and holds a PhD degree in animal nutrition of the Wageningen Agricultural University.

Former Head of Innovation and R&D has handed over responsibility

As a result of the restructuring process, Bohumír Simerda has handed over his responsibility for Research and Development to Jan Dirk van der Klis. Maintaining his position of Director CEE, Bohumír Simerda will focus more deeply on the expansion of Delacon activities in the CEE region. Due to its location and organization, the Performing Nature Research Center in Znojmo (CZ) will remain part of the CEE division, but will maintain a strong link to the R&D department.
