The demonstration trials of agricultural machinery and equipment staged in the Pune district in the State of Maharashtra was deemed a total success. A great turnout of India technicians and business people came to watch Made in Italy technologies at work thanks to the initiative organized by FederUnacoma and the Emilia Romagna Region and important Indian scientific and economic agencies.

EIMA Show India 2015, the first held in the Maharashtra State in connection with Italian-Indian cooperation based on the commitments taken by various important institutions, came to a close this afternoon in Manjiri, in the Pune district. The technical trials of agricultural machinery and equipment, brought by Italian manufacturers to the experimental grounds of the Pune National Research Center for Grapes, drew large crowds from Maharashtra and other Indian states to witness new generation mechanical engineering in operation on soil preparation, irrigation and viticulture work, a sector taking on growing importance for the Indian agricultural economy. FederUnacoma, the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, which organized the event, estimated that some one thousand Indian professional business people attended the two days of trials and underscored the importance of the institutional framework for creating the initiative which is guaranteeing sound prospects for further development of this bilateral cooperation.

Present for the inauguration ceremony yesterday afternoon were the Maharashtra State government commissioner for agriculture, Vikas Deshmukh, G. Sawant, the director of the Pune National Research Center for Grapes, T. Janakiraman, the director of the Horticulture Science Department of the Indian Research Council, Satish Magar, president of the Chamber of Commercial, Industry and Agriculture in Mahratta, Sopan Kanchan, the head of the Indian committee for agribusiness of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Italian-Indian Chamber of Commerce representative Alessandro Lambrucchi and Marco Acerbi, the FederUnacoma director of the events office.

With the participation of the Emilia Romagna Region to back agricultural machinery manufacturers in the region's industrial districts, the purpose of the EIMA Show India is to strengthen collaboration with the country's agencies for smooth transfers of Made in Italy technologies for the subcontinent's real farming conditions to bolster commercial relations between the two countries.

The Italian companies which took part in the event are Annovi Reverberi (components), Braglia (components), Cima (sprayers, dusters and weed control), F.lli Annovi di Annovi Marino (vineyard fertilizer spreaders), Fieni Giovanni (fans for mist blowers), Martignani (mist blowers), Nobili (sprayers and mulchers), Selvatici (spading machines and post hole diggers), Sicma (spaders and shredders), Tifone (sprayers), Zanon (shears and vineyard and orchard equipment).

Following the close of the two days of field trials, the Manjiri event calls for a third day, tomorrow, dedicated to business-to-business meetings to bring together the companies in the sector and business people from all around India. Marco Acerbi, responsible for the organization of these days, commented, “With the success for the public and its technical contents, the EIMA Show event is being confirmed as a winning project, an excellent bridge leading to the great EIMA Agrimach exhibition which, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), we will hold in New Delhi next December 3rd to the 5th.” He went on to note that, “The biennial exhibition, reaching its fourth edition this year, does not fail to surprise for its dynamics and capacity for growth.”
