In the context of the CAP certain agricultural sectors have benefitted from the recognition and activities of Interbranch Organisations - IBOs (in particular in olive oil and tobacco where recognition remains mandatory, as well as in fruit and vegetables), but a new horizontal framework has only been introduced by Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 (Common Market Organisation Regulation; hereafter "CMO Regulation").
IBOs play an important role in the food chain, particularly in some Member States or regions and in some agricultural sectors. In others, organisations regrouping different actors in the food chain exist, but are not recognised in the context of the CMO. In some Member States, no such organisations exist.
The Commission considers that the review of the existing legal framework for IBOs and future policy development in this area would benefit from a study which provides an overview of the current situation and activities of IBOs across Member States.
Deadline for the submission of offers: 11 August 2015.
