The Council will start with the approval of A items and a preliminary exchange of views on the Commission proposal fixing the 2018 fishing opportunities in the Baltic sea.
Ministers will then be informed about the latest developments in the case of eggs contaminated with fipronil, and on financing possibilities through the "EU Minor Use Coordination Facility”.
After lunch, the Commission will be invited to update the Council on the market developments in the main agricultural sectors. Then ministers will have the opportunity to discuss the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, its goals (SDGs) and implications for the EU agricultural policy.
The discussion will be followed by a series of "any other business" items including on: the joint declaration of the Visegrad group plus Latvia and Lithuania on the prospect of the CAP post 2020, and the anti-subsidy and anti-dumping procedures open by the US against black table olives from Spain.
Then ministers will resume discussions on fisheries holding an exchange of views on the EU-Norway annual consultations for 2018 and the annual meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT), which will take place on 14-22 November 2017 in Marrakech, Morocco.
Finally, the Council is due to reach a political agreement on fishing opportunities for 2018 for certain fish stocks in the Baltic Sea.
