After the adoption of A items, the Council will have an exchange of views on the Commission's communication on "The Future of Food and Farming", with a view to adopting Council conclusions on the future Common Agricultural Policy. During this debate ministers will also have the opportunity to be informed on the joint declaration of the Baltic countries plus Poland on the same Commission's communication.
The Council will then address fisheries-related matters starting with the presentation of a Commission proposal establishing a multi-annual plan for the fisheries exploiting demersal stocks in the western Mediterranean Sea, and then moving to two Any other business items. Ministers will be informed in particular about working conditions and safety on board fishing vessels, and a joint declaration on freshwater aquaculture after 2020.
A press conference will be held at the end of the meeting (at around 16.30) with Commissioner Hogan.
