‘This new scheme is a way for Agrifirm to show additional appreciation to loyal members,' says CFO Jaap Vessies. ‘We do this by giving an attractive interest rate on the funds members keep on account with the Agrifirm Loyalty Scheme. Funds that come from the Member Payments. Entrepreneurs who do a great deal of business with us therefore profit the most. This connection benefits both parties, especially in the long term'. In order to keep the administrative processing manageable, a minimum balance of 750 euros applies for participation in the Agrifirm Loyalty Scheme.
The Members Council this week approved the proposal to pay 25 million euros to the members of the cooperative. They have the option of crediting the total Member Payment to their Agrifirm Loyalty Scheme account. Members who are not able or willing to participate in the Agrifirm Loyalty Scheme will receive their Member Payment in May.
Agrifirm wants to create added value for the members by delivering innovative products, concepts and advice. This is the basis on which Agrifirm realises growth in market share in several sectors. Thanks to the Member Payments, a total of 25 million euros will be distributed among the livestock farmers and growers who do business with and who are members of the Agrifirm Cooperative. This cooperative approach differentiates Agrifirm from other major players in the market. It is a specific example of the result of the new Better Together strategy with which Agrifirm wants to actively contribute to a future-proof food chain.
