– In Bologna, everything is ready for the upcoming European Under 19 Championship of American Football, which will be officially kicked off during the opening ceremony on Sunday July, 28 at 9 p.m. at Piazza Minghetti. The event will involve the entire city from July, 29 to August 4, and particularly in the stadiums Arcoveggio and Bernardi – Parco Lunetta Gamberini – everything is ready.
BKT, a major global Off-Highway tire manufacturer, and a brand that is renown and recognized for some significant sport sponsorships, is the Championship's Presenting Sponsor based on an agreement stipulated with FIDAF, the Italian Federation of American Football.
The city of Bologna has been awarded with the privilege of hosting the Championship acing out many other candidates. In Italy, American Football is actually a consolidated reality with great many players and followers: around 100 associated teams and 7,000 registered members.
Emilia Romagna is certainly the region with the largest number of fans for this sport having 16 active teams including one woman team. No place could have been more appropriate hence.
American Football is a sport that gains increasingly popularity culminating right in the upcoming European Championships. Real evidence is given by the ever-highest participation rate in this edition of the European Championship with Italy, Austria, Denmark, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden, and Finland competing against each other fielding 500 athletes under 19.
