JXU Assists Hope Cove lifeboat
Last month the people of Hope Cove, Devon, were celebrating the arrival of a new lifeboat to their small seaside village. Case IH dealer Dayment & Skelton was on hand with a JXU 85 which was used to tow the boat in and out of the water. A committee came to the Case IH dealership to approve the tractor which is a 9 month old Statesman with approximately 300 hours on the clock. The JXU was prepared to withstand the amount of salt water it would contact as it hauled the life boat onto the dock. Modifications included an air intake snorkel for the engine, a drain tap fitted to the bell housing and a generous coating of Waxoyl applied to the chassis. There's been a lifeboat in Hope Cove for over 130 years but the last few boats have not met required standards. In 2010 central funding for the boat was withdrawn so locals took over and raised over £100,000 for a new one, as they say it's an essential service for their village.

Case IH and SMRA Agreement Still Paying Off
An innovative agreement between Scotland's Machinery Rings Association and Case IH continues to pay off with more than £100,000 being paid back to individual farmers. With its success, the scheme has been extended to run for another 2 years and Ring members can forward details of any eligible purchases throughout the year to their local Ring office.
Andy Whiley, Account Manager for Case IH, said he saw mutual benefits from the scheme. “Over the last few years I am sure that it has helped Scottish farmers and indeed Case IH dealers to have good competitive products on farms which have not had Case IH products for many years.”
In addition to the rebate scheme, Ring members throughout Scotland were given the opportunity to participate in a Case IH competition with the winner receiving one month's free tractor hire of the new Puma 160CVX tractor with 8 runners up winning a trip to the Case IH European Headquarters in St Valentin, Austria.
The winner of the hire tractor, George Hendry who farms at Wester Manbeen, Elgin said that he was delighted to be first out of the hat. The tractor will be put through its paces spreading fertiliser, de-stoning and other spring work.
