The 6th edition of Contoterzista Day, the Italian event dedicated to contracting in agriculture, was held on December 16, 2017 at the exclusive venue of Argo Tractors SpA in Fabbrico (Reggio Emilia). The conference was organized by the Edagricole magazine published by Gruppo 24 ore. For the first time, it has been under the aegis of CAI, the Italian Confederation for Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers and Farmers. Once again, BKT was a sponsor of this prestigious gathering where analysts, experts and institutions provided fundamental answers to the question why companies in the farming machinery sector will play a key role for the future of agriculture.
BKT had its voice in the official part of the event providing an overview of several highly interesting topics in the world of agriculture: upcoming and future changes in food consumption, fiscal aspects in the sector, financing of Industry 4.0 projects as well as Mother Regulation effects. Hence, the focus lied on innovative scenarios that are to be truly understood in order to anticipate and master the challenges to come.
Today's farming businesses need to be always more competitive. The global growth of the food demand, and the call for soil tillage and cultivation practices with a reduced environmental impact are by and by requiring to adopt a new management style and to revolutionize rules, which formerly appeared to be unchangeable. It is from these concepts that modern agriculture has come to life based on agronomic paths that differ from previous ones and based on the figure of professional specialists - like the farming contractor - that are able to embark on these paths.
Thus, the farming contractor is playing a more and more predominant role on the market, becoming a main stakeholder even for tire manufacturers like BKT. Providing the right product for a variety of needs helps in terms of cost saving and downtime reduction, but above all, it contributes to establish a healthy state of the soil. In turn, the contractors' feedback turns into a useful instrument that enables BKT to develop always more specific and more advanced solutions for any technology or application. This is precisely why the Indian multinational company offers its support to these professional experts or entities by ensuring highly performing products.
“We are glad to take part in this Contoterzista Day again, demonstrating our support to support the players in this sector in such a way that in turn we will receive precious feedback to create the most appropriate solutions for farming operators' real requirements,” Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director BKT Europe says. “The agricultural sector today needs innovation, and we are all called to face this challenge. The farming contractor is a strategic key figure full of resources and know-how with a global market vision who is able to recognize trends and to be one move ahead. Cooperating side by side with farming contractors is tantamount to sharing experiences, to innovation, and to progress. These essential assets have been our distinguishing mark ever since.”
The Day ended with testing the new McCormick X7 and X8 series that will be starring in Xtractor – ready to depart for South Africa on tires made by BKT.
